I sailed on Celebrity's Zenith four years ago and had an outstanding time. When we decided to take another cruise for my high school graduation,
Celebrity was at the top of our list. The party I was traveling with consisted of my mom, grandmother, aunt, 15 and 18 year old female cousins, and
my 25 year old brother. We flew from different areas of the country, and were anxious to see each other on the ship. Celebrity/Royal Caribbean
does a pretty good job getting people from the airport to the ship, especially considering the great numbers. As the bus approached the ship I could
hear the 'oohs' and 'ahhs' of my fellow cruisers. The Galaxy is simply stunning. At around 77,000 tons it is large enough to provide its passengers
with both a feeling of ample space and facilities, but not too large that it is no longer passenger-friendly. I was very impressed with the Orion Dining
Room. This two story restaurant contains a grand staircase with a piano at the top, and floor to ceiling windows in the back where one can watch the
sunset as he dines on a gourmet meal. As far as the Galaxy's entertainment department is concerned, let's just say I was thoroughly entertained.
The shows are fabulous, it is easy to see the time and money that was invested in putting them on. The pool area is planned out well. There are two
pools, one deep and one shallow, with an adult only hot tub between them. Aft of the pools are three more hot tubs that provide a view of the whole
area. I spent most of my freetime at night in the Stratosphere Disco. They played an excellent mixture of music, and along with the lights, lasers, and
fog, it provided hours of fun. When I wasn't in the Disco, I was in the Casino. It had more than enough tables and slot machines. The British staff
were very entertaining, especially at the craps table. All areas of the ship are spotless at all times. I got pizza one afternoon, took the plate out to
the pool area with me, ate it, took a swim, and when I came back the plate was gone. There were two things I would like to see changed. First the
minor one, have a 24 hour beverage station open for us night owls who don't like to spend $2.00 for a Coke. Second, skip Barbados and add
another day at sea. The days at sea are the best anyway, and there is nothing to see in Barbados. Overall, words cannot describe the time I had. I
recommend this cruise to people of all ages. If anybody has any questions, please feel free to e-mail me.
