What is not to love on a ship like this!
Food- was as good as expected, except the conch fritters I did not care for. You must order
more than one entree as the portions are fairly small.
Especially when it is rack of lamb night.
Dining Service- was superb after we had the waiter changed the first day. The first guy
was not listening to what we ordered and got it wrong each
time. To top it off he blaimmed it on us for not telling him, but all of the table mates
heard the orders. Oh well it was fixed promptly with no fuss. The
maitre'd even arranged a private Galley tour to make up for the situation.
Cabin Service- could have been better. I had to keep leaving notes to have things cleaned
or to get a ice bucket and glasses for the wine that was
sent to us. Friends we went with said that their stewardess anticipated their needs for
glasses among other things such as extra towels and even
folded all of their clothes every day.
Entertainment- the production shows are ok. The special guest performers were fantastic.
We had a pianist who has played for the Queen and
presidents and the singer played Evita on broadway. The lounge groups were very good too.
The ship also had a strolling acapella foursome that
was incredible.
Ship- Comfortable! Space everywhere, much more than Century. I do like the wood interior
on Century better but the overall facilities are better on
Galaxy. This is refined cruising without having to pay Crystal prices or deal with lots of
old people.
Cabin- We booked a Cat 2 cabin that used to be a mini suite but is no longer. Cabin 1201
is subject to noise of dragging display props on the deck
above you as they are stored up there. Choose 1200 instead or one on a lower deck.
Ports Dominican Republic-Catalina Island- We booked the horse back riding and loved it. We
did use the thalasso-therapy wirlpool to soothe are
aching bodies though. The ten dollars a visit is worth it-free to suites.
Antigua- Freindly people, beautiful beaches, not commercial
Barbados- OK like Cozumel
Martinique- Incredibly beautful but French.
St Thomas- Very nice- shopping,shopping,shopping
San Juan- Very scary- go to a protected beach resort and old town
