Prior to this trip, we had been on eight cruises, including NCL, Carnival , and Princess
(our favorite). This was our first time on Celebrity and we both agree
that this was an excellent cruise, leaving us with a dilemma as to which line is now our
favorite. Without a doubt, Celebrity has the best food of any cruise
we have been on. The presentation and variety at each meal in the dining room was
exceptional, although we are both fond of the pasta course available
on Princess. Food at the Lido buffetts for breakfast, lunch and midnight buffetts was also
excellent, with good variety. The burgers and pizza at the
poolside grill were also great. Snacks ordered from the room service menu were tasty and
delivered promptly. The ship itself is beautiful as we favor the
bleached/blonde woods that are prevalent throughout. Naviagtion around the ship was made
easy by the signs posted at every stairwell. We had a Cat. 2
cabin with a verandah and found it to be adequate in terms of size and storage. The
bathroom was one of the largest we had ever had on a ship and the
water pressure was great. The only negatives we have were that the cruise director struck
us as pompous and was never around, except when the
captain was around. The band that was around the pool (Something Special), although
excellent, was better suited for a lounge. A Caribbean cruise
should have a steel or reggae (calypso) band around the pool to liven things up. The
calypso band on board (Opus) only played around the pool twice
and they were great. The final negative was that the gym did not open until 7 a.m. We are
both early birds and would have preferred to work out earlier
than 7 a.m. We would rate this as an excellent cruise and would be happy to provide
further information to any one interested
