Celebrity Zenith September 19 - 26, 1998 Bermuda - Hamilton and St. George

My next scheduled cruise was planned for mid October, but had some extra vaction available and at the last minute scheduled this cruise to
Bermuda. This was my second Celebrity Cruise, first being on the Galaxy in November of 1997. Previous cruise lines traveled include RCCI,
Princess, Costa, Carnival, and NCL. G

ETTING THERE: One thing nice about going to Bermuda is that many of the cruise lines offer complimentary
bus service from various nearby east coast cities. Drove to Wilimgton, Deleware. There is a large parking lot directly next to the bus station.
Parking was reasonable at $51.00 per week. The bus makes a few stops to pick up additional people before arriving at the New York dock.
Celebrity Reps are waiting to point you in the correct direction. The lines were long at embarkation but moved with reasonable speed. You are
escorted to your stateroom.

STATEROOM: Spacious and clean. About 175 square foot, better than some of the 120 square foot staterooms on
RCCI and NCL. Genereous storage space, safe, hair dryer, and decent size shower, music with 3 channels, color tv. Excellent cabin stewardess -
Ingrid. Has anyone ever had a bad cabin steward? ENTERTAINMENT: David Graham is a very high energy Cruise Director, the people appear to
enjoy his energy. The evening shows are limited due to Bermuda rules. The last night a show called 'Success' is perfomred, one of the best shows
I have seen at sea!! Don't miss the show, skip dinner if you must, the show is great! FOOD: The food is very good, OVERALL better than NCL,
Carnival, RCCI, and Costa. I still think

OVERALL the food on the past two Princess ships (Dawn and Sun) is better. At dinner the waiter brings
around a tray to show and describe the dessert selection for the evening, nice touch. I always enjoy trying the pasta on ships, sorry but every
pasta dished tried was unaccaptable, starchy and very stingy with the sauce. Perhaps I have been spoiled by the pasta on Costa and Princess,
prepared by an Italian Staff. One other note, some of the soups although tasty were very salty. Buffet food in the Windjammer Cafe was very good.
Nice selection, including a 'light and lean' station that was hardly touched by anyone. Ice cream and pizza are served in this area daily.
Unfortunately the Windjammer Cafe is the only area of the ship that is not very attractive. It looks like a low budget cafeteria with Rectangular
Formica tables with chrome chairs, single buffet line serving the same items on each side of the ship. The lines do get long, and do no move with
any speed.

This could be due to the fact that everything is in a sngle line as apposed to having different stations for carved meets and salads.
Many people put CCL 'down' but their lunch buffet areas are much more attractive and more user friendly thus eliminating slow moving lines.
Tex-Mex, and Fruit Midnight buffets were Superior! There is also 'The Grill' located on the stern, outside, behind the Windjammer Cafe. Good
burgers, dogs, fries, and a featured item each day, such as tasty fried chicken. SERVICE: A+ Every place you go the service was very friendly and
professional, all I can say....It must be a happy crew!

POOLS: Pools are filled with salt water, hot tubs with fresh. Both are closed promptly at 7pm.
Pool deck and sun deck have gold color indoor/outdoor carpeting that is tired, it needs replacing. I wonder why teak decks are not used?
BERMUDA: First port is Hamilton. A city atmosphere, very very clean. Friendly people, typical business attire for the men is a navy blazer, white
shirt, tie, Bermuda shorts, knee socks. I thought it looked great! Not many bargains to be found, Bermuda is expensive. Gas is $4.60 per gallon. I
visited a grocery store, and almost every item was more than double what you would pay in the states. If you do not mind exploring on your own,
purchase the 3 day bus/ferry boat pass for $21.00. This allows you unlimited use of the buses (about half have Air Conditioning), and ferry boats.
Or if you rather there is also a $10.00 one day pass. The second and final port is St. George. Charming town, that was also extremely clean.

CONCLUSION: Together the Zenith and Bermuda create a wonderful vacation! Excellent service, spotless ship, better food than many ships, and
Bermuda....ahhhh wonderful place to visit especially via cruise ship!!

Next scheduled cruise: October 18, 1998 Grand Princess
