The Costa Victoria is a beautiful well decorated ship. If you are worried about sea
sickness, I assure you that this is the most stable ship I been on. At
times I had to ask my wife if we were moving. The fine dinning in the Fantasia Restaurant
was good but not great.I found the meats and pasta dishes
outstanding. However, most of the other dishes lacked presentation and were inadequately
prepared for my taste buds. The desserts were the most
disappointing to me and my wife. I expected to have italian specialty desserts only to be
dissappointed night after night. I also was disappointed with
the pizzaria and the unavailability of cappuccino at dinner time. The Costa Victoria
excells in the entertainment. The lounges had excellent
international bands. The show lounge had fabulous Las Vegas shows on the first night of
the cruise and another on mid-week. The rest of the week,
the ship had two well known Italian singers. Although I was born in Italy, I would have
rather seen more of the Victoria Dancers. Our cruise had two
days at sea. The line had plenty of pool activities scheduled which I found amusing. We
also visited Serena Cay, Costa's private Island. In reality its
Catalina Island, a National Park owned by the Dominican Republic. I did not find the water
crystal clear as one would expect from a alleged secluded
island. I found the jet ski exhaust very irritating to my air passage. If you're looking
for a cruise with a beautiful private Island, this is not it. Over-all I
found the trip enjoyable and a excellent value for the money. I warn you, if you don't
appreciate 4-5 other laungages spoken on the ship from
passengers and crew staff, then Costa Italian style is not for you.
