Why a CruiseOpinion web site?

Since we began business in 1994, we have had many clients come in looking at a particular ship and ask, "Have you had other clients go on this ship? What did they think?" This began the idea of putting together a resource on the Internet that allows easy communication about people's cruise experiences.

In early 1996, we began developing CruiseOpinion.com to become the premier source of honest cruise information for travelers.  Of course, we hoped the site would become popular and therefore expand our base of satisfied clients from East Lansing, Michigan to world-wide.  Fortunately, both of those things have happened.

There is an excellent news group called rec.travel.cruises that is also a great resource to find out about other's experiences, but you sometimes have to read through many, many articles to find information about the ship you're interested in. With CruiseOpinion.com, you can find the ship you're looking for quickly and easily. And, you can also submit your cruise ratings to share with other travelers.

The History of our Agency

From early 1994 to August 1998, we were franchisees of CruiseOne, Inc., one of the largest cruise-only franchised agencies in the country.   We enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship for the time we were with CruiseOne.   And we enjoyed working with the people there immensely.  Unfortunately, in August 1998 CruiseOne instituted a policy forbidding all franchisees from maintaining their own web site.  As our site had involved a large investment in time, labor, and money to develop (and because over 90% of our bookings were now coming from the site), we had to make the very sad decision to leave the CruiseOne family.
