We had a wonderful cruise! We recommend the dance lessons for beginners and experienced
dancers--good exercise and great fun.
The health spa had a good variety of equipment. The treadmills face onto the ocean.
The food and food service were excellent.
Our cabin was on deck 9. I highly recommend the cabins with a private veranda (decks 8 and
9) --for us it was worth the expense (of course--we don't shop!).
The captain was terrific--he made some decisions en route that made it possible for us to
see lots of whales-- I saw one breach very nearby from the veranda. It was very exciting.
The entertainment was surprisingly professional. The cast was talented and energetic.
The ship seems to me to be a perfect size, both physically and in terms of the number of
people involved. We ran into people we liked often enough to become friendly by the end of
the cruise.
Do try the two restaurants--they're very good.
We experienced truly miserable weather--cold and rainy--and we still had a great time.
Alaska is wonderful. By the way--DO take the land extension trip to Denali and go on the
LONG nature expedition. We saw grizzly bears, wolves, caribou, etc. And don't miss the
excusion from the ship that promises sea otters, whales, and seals--they delivered.
I'd love to go just about anywhere the Crystal goes. I hope to spend a few more vacations
on that ship. It was really special.
