First, all I can say is WOW! We started out with 4 days of Disney and that was amazing. We went on an
off-peak season, so there was hardly any waiting in lines. Although, the first line was trying to find
something to eat on the ship when we boarded. When you have a couple thousand people all trying to
eat, it makes it hard, and the buffet was closed by the time we got there. So we had to go to have hotdogs
and hamburgers. Here is where I had my first upset. You had to wait in one line to get your food and
another line for your drinks. The kids were hungry and I was thirsty, so the kids came first. I urge
everyone to buy the big cups on the boat and at the resort if you drink allot of soda or coffee. At the
resort for our first meal, we all got small sodas for 4 of us and it was over $7.00. So buy the cups and get
free refills. Nassau was what every one said it was. Terrible! I should have stayed on the ship. And the
braids were expensive. If you’re wanting braids wait till you go to Castaway Cay. The ladies are much
nicer. I was a little disappointed with the ocean at Castaway Cay. I really do not like salt water, and neither
did the kids. They wanted to go back on the ship to go to the pool. We celebrated my older daughters
10th birthday and received a cake on that night at dinner with a song. They also gave the younger one
her own cake too. She'll be 7 on Oct 10. The girls just loved our cabin steward Mr. Sterling and our dining
server Valentine. They were excellent to the girls. Our last night on the ship was a little rough. We had
over 13 foot waves, but all went well once I fell asleep. I am going to look into the Disney Vacation Club,
since my mother paid for this one. And I hope to go again as long as the girls still want to. I highly
recommend the kids club activities. They give you a pager, so that if something happens, or just if the
little one wants to come out they page you and you’re on your way. This is a must cruise with family or the
couple that is young at heart!

This cruise was by far better than my last cruise. Embarkation was a snap. It went just like that, I remeber
taking my brother over to get his picture with gofy in front of a HUGE model of the ship. And next thing I
knew my mom was telling us it was time to board.

When you board the ship it was just GREAT. The wood, and marbel were polsihed so much you couldnt
imagin unless you saw it yourself. A woman asks for your name, and state. And then over the
anooncement system they said, Welcome aboard, the Witter Family from California. And then all of the
crew claps. You also have the option of geting your picture taken with a sign that has your boarding date
and a picture of micky.

When its time to leave port I strongly encourge you to wait to go on deck until AFTER the horn plays,
'When you wish upon a star,' its quiet deafaning.

Hurricane Kieth was in action our first sailing day, so you could defintly tell the ship was moving and the
pool was overflowing on to the deck, but everyone still turned out to watch us leave port. Even the other
cruise ships waved goodbye.

Day 2-

We were in Castaway Cay when I woke up, and the island was BEAUTIFUL, we swam and then we layed
on the beach for an hour before eating at cookies bbq and then returning to the ship. We boarded and
were greeted buy chipindale! My little bro loved them.

That night when we left port there was a dance party on deck, and I decided I would go to the teens only
room, it was fun, and I enjoyed the bartender, her name was niki from canada, and beaunard from norway
was really cool as well.

I decided to go back to my room and watch TV, I wasnt feeling well because the ship was REALLY
moving.

That night we went to Animators Palat, the food was great, but you could defintly hear the engins, and the
ship sounded like it was going to fall apart, it was creaking and groaing, and our tabel was shaking, it
really scared my sister, and then a cup fell on the floor and broke, but it was still great.

Day 3- Nassua I woke up early to see us arrive in port I watched from the bow of the ship (front) and we
doked beside the carnival victory, they were taller but our ship was still longer!

Nassua was DISGUSTINGLY dirty, and there was SO many people. We took the discovery atlantis tour
witch was fun, and they fooled my sister into beliving it was really the lost city of atalntis. lol.

That night I spent the rest of the night in the Common Grounds area and watched the hockey game.

Day 4- At sea

I spent all day at Common grounds, they had the best activities, we got to run around the ship with a
digital camera and take pictures of the cards they give you. It is like a digital scavenger hunt.

Then we had the mellinum deck party, it was a BLAST, we had dinner at Tritons and we also had
breakfeast there debarkation day.

I hope you enjoyed my review and I will be writing another one in december I am going back!

I am a first time cruiser along with my girlfriend and her seven year old daughter. we decided to book a
Disney cruise in March for October, right in the middle of Hurricane season, I know.... anyway we
decided to use a travel agent that is a friend of the family and she helped us out alot. She tried
booking the trip two ways, One, through Disney directly and, Two, by pricing the air fare seperately.
we saved almost one hundred dollars per person on air fare by booking on our own.

We only went on the four day cruise without going to Disney World its self, and luckly we did because
we were all totally exhausted by the time it was all over....

We had gotten on a flight the day before the cruise was to depart and stayed in a hotel by the
Orlando Airport the night before embarktation, witch is a very good Idea because there is sooo much
going on that day, you will feel much more relaxed. The morning of we boarded the hotel shuttle back
to the airport terminal and found Disney represenatives everywhere!! the pointed us to the Busses
and we were off... It is just about an hour ride to the Port Terminal, and there is a movie playing on the
bus to get you even more excited then you already are..

When you arive at the terminal you have the option of carying you bags with you or letting the crew
send them right up to your stateroom. We didnt recieve or bags untill one half our before dinner about
5:30 so if you are in a big rush to get your bags, carry them on your self if possiable. Check in was
increadibly simple, flash your Identifacation card and your ready to board.

When you are boarding the announce every family and where the are from as you enter the ship, I
thought it was a nice touch. you then walk through the main atrium witch is beautiful, the right into your
first Buffet of the trip. this is probally the best meal of the trip..

The staterooms are very large and have everything you could need, and if they dont your
hostess/host will be more than happy to help you with anything you need. we were in an inside
stateroom and it was more than adequate for the three of us. The host/hostess are always near by, it
almost seem that every time we came back to our host (Alfredo) had been there and straightned up or
replaced towles and such. it was wonderful the way he came in every night while we were at dinner
and the evening show and turned down our beds, diffrently every night, and left three chocolates and
the Schedule for the next days event along with diffrent note cards for every night

All three restaurants were very nice. oure table mates were another couple with a ten year old son, it
seem to me by looking around the restaurants that they had tried to match up like familys, witch was
great.. The food was alright, nothing really jumped out at me as being a must have, and the waiters
are very helpfull in making decisions, espically for the children. we were on the four day cruise and on
the fourth night you eat in the restaurant you ate in the night before, ours was parrot cay, the menu is
not that good on that night, it is a compilatiion of dishes from around the Disney 'Empire'. My meal was
even cold.. so if you are going to plan an evening at Palo do it on that night..

Nassau..... We didnt really do much in Nassau a little shopping then back on the ship..

Freeport... In my opinion, Freeport is a total waste! the port is right in the middle of a very very
industrial harbor, and you need to ride in a Taxi for at least twenty minutes to get anywhere, needless
to say, we just steped off of the ship for five minutes took some pictures and reboarded

Castaway Cay.... Was great if you just want to relax on the beach for a while there really wasnt much
else to do..I enjoyed it very much. Lunch on the Island is only served for about two hours, so try to get
to the line early as it gets very long. the food is not that great anyway, so if you can wait untill you gat
back to the ship you are probally better off...

disembarktation.. went very smooth, the crew will guide you off of the ship right through customs and
on tho a bus, you can even check you bags with your airline right at the port treminal.

I would give the overall cruise expierance with Disney a nine out of ten....

any questions please email me at cbsaw@snet.net I will be more than happt to help you with your trip
planning

My family and I were completely satisfied with this cruise. I sent over twenty years at sea in the US
Navy and I was glad to spend the time at sea with my family. We felt the service staff worked extra
hard to ensure that we were satisfied in all respects. The ship is bright and enjoyable to move about in
compared to the other cruise line we traveled. The deck layout allows for greater dispersal of
passengers instead of crowding them from midships aft. The large cabins (304 sq ft) with the veranda
allowed for easy movement and plenty of room for everyone. The split of shower/bathtub and lavatory
facilities allows a family more versitility in trying to get ready for anything. The emphasis on family
entertainment as well as adult enjoyment is done very well. The wait staff for the meals were
exempliary. They worked very hard to ensure that all at each table were equally treated and satisfied.
The Animator Pallet concept for the dining room is both enjoyable as well as entertaining. The concept
of rotating the dinners through various themed dining rooms is an excellent idea. It was delightful to
see the various themes. The division of areas leaving one area for adults is fantastic. My family are all
over 21 and we all had a wonderful time away from the families with children. My family and I are
intending to sail with the Disney Cruise Line again on the seven day cruise. We enjoyed the cruise
more than any other vacation we have had. It is relaxing, entertaining, colorful and well thought out.

We cruised November 12-16, 2000. It was my 7th Cruise and we took our 6 and 5 year old sons. It was a
nice cruise, but we wished we would have known several things: 1. Soda Pop is free in the dinning room
for lunch and dinner, but you have to ask for it. 2. Your room key card opens your safe (is that safe?) 3.
Some rooms on Deck 6 are above the theatre, and you can hear the noise late at night! In room 6606
you could hear noise at midnight. 4. The 3 on 3 basketball tournament is full of fouls and is pretty rough.
5. Some of the best deserts are off the kids menu, specifically the Mickey Ice Cream bar (premium ice
cream and great chocolate) and you can get it if you ask for it. 6. Our bus driver to the boat waited to the
end to play the video, and we did not get to watch it all. It had some must know info and the driver was to
busy singing and playing music and stuff. Insist on the video in its entirety. 7. On the last day, you are to
be out of your rooms by 8 am, the boat was cleared by customs by 8:15, and everyone is to be off by 9
am. We were just starting breakfast at 8:15! 8. We did the Disney resort first, and they tell you all Bell
hops at the hotel and ship our tipped as part of the transfer package, but the bell hops at the
Contemporary Resort disputed that and were very rude. They wanted more tips! 9. The 4th person bed is
actually a pull down from the ceiling. Which is good as the sofa was a single sleeper which left more room
in the room. 10. The balcony doors slide to the left. Many people pushed for 5 minutes, changing the lock
settings, thinking the doors swing open. 11. The kid club is great. Tim, the director, goes the extra mile.
Our kids begged to go. 12. They check out beepers and require you to agree to pay $150.00 if lost or
stolen. 13. The beepers work a ways from the ship, we estimated 3-4 miles, which is great for Castaway
Cay or even Nassau. 14. The beepers are alpha numeric, which allowed them to send long text
messages with pertinent information. 15. The time, date, and ring sound can be changed by pushing the
third button to the right on the horizontal row. This is important as you could hear pagers going off and
they all sounded the same. No one knew how to change the tones! 16. Digital Cellular is available most of
the trip, but even with roaming, we could not get our phones to work with the local carrier Protelco. We
got their recording, and never got a person. Before you leave, call your carrier and turn on their
Bahamas Roaming! 17. PCS may work, as we saw people talking on their phones at Castaway Cay. 18.
There are payphones at Nassau just off the boat and around the corner. They do not recognize toll free
numbers. They do take coins at the rate of $1 per minute, direct dial to the states. You must push the
star button to activate your mic after a call goes through. 19. There are no payphones at Castaway Cay.
20. The current adult club show is a 70’s show with a lot of Disco. This is on the Castaway Cay night. It is
a ton of fun if you like Disco. 21. People in Nassua are quite rude, especially the shop keepers down by
the pier. Some are nice, most are very short and rude. We got yelled at for standing in front of one stand
while talking with the lady at the next stand! 22. Room 6606 had rattles and noise when the ship went
faster than 15 knots, (between Nassua and Castaway Cay, and for a short time coming back). 23.
Postage from the Post office at Castaway Cay is 65 cents cash only. They use cool stamps with the
Disney Wonder on it, and there are free post cards in your stateroom. 24. The Disney Dreams show is
good, but our kids loved Hercules much better due to the humor. Our 6 year old was quoting lines all trip!
25. Palos is way over rated. Especially when you can get good food in the dinning rooms. As you leave,
they make you sign for the $5 per person, then they hit you up for “additional gratuities” on top of the
mandatory one. I felt that was tacky. 26. I found a 60 page write up on the Disney cruise on a web site
that was very good. I lost the web address, but it was a mini-travel guide that really helped. Search the
web for it. 27. The average age of the adults was mid 30-40. This compares to an average age on other
boats of 50 +. What I am saying is that on other boats we have felt way young. Here we were with our
peers, a nice change. 28. There were nearly 700 children on our cruise, and they put on a neat 10
minute show for all the guests on the Sea Day and got shirts for it. That was neat.

As an adult, I would probably take a different ship. With a family, this boat for sure. The kids programs
were great, and our kids actually begged us to let them go. That gave us lots of time for peace and
couple time. We also had great weather!

Loved it, loved it, loved it!!!

I had a remarkable time. We had originally planned for 6 of us to take te curise, and due to an
emergency one of our party was unable to go on the cruise portion of our trip. The insurance is difficult
to get a refund from, but we still have our fingers crossed for a refund of cruise charges.

We are Disney Vacation Club members, and were very disappointed to find there were no incentives for
us to travel on the cruise ship, no discounts, on board credits or cabin upgrades offered.

The staff is attentive, gracious and they honestly look like they are enjoying thier jobs, especially the
dining room staff. They are a wonderful group of people...If Briar or Kim ever happen to see this..We
miss you guys :)

Cabins were well decorated and quiet, although we did have a group of rambunctious children down the
hall from us, that appeared to be in a room alone. You should know that the rooms do get smaller
towards the forward section. I noticed immediately that my room was smaller than my sister and
brother-in-law's, and still smaller than my parent's cabin. This worked out fine because I was travelling
alone, but a family of 4 would have found this room a bit small. (hint it was cabin 2000)

I was VERY disappointed in the excursion we took in Nassau. It was $50 a piece for a day at Atlantis
hotel on Paradise Island. We were told there would be a bit of walking, but the tour of the facility,
aquariums and use of the beach was well worth the money. This turned out to be the worst day of the
whole trip. We seemed to be well taken care of by the Atlantis hotel staff until the Disney Cruise
Coordinator left us. At this point it turned into a race to the hotel, across 4 lanes of traffic. My mother has
problems with her back, and although she can walk long distances without a problem, you needed to be
able to run a 26 mile marathon to keep up with the hotel guide or risk being lost. We were then herded
like a group of cattle through the hotel, no explainations, no direction through what seemed like 30 miles
of corridors to the beach area. When we arrived there were no towels that had been purchased as part
of the excursion. Lunch that was included with the package (from one of the hotel snack bars) was
another 4 miles down the beach, although there was a snack bar located just behind us on the beach
we weren't allowed to use the 'coupon' at that restaurant. There was no guided tour of the aquarium as
promised. We had to drag chairs to a 50ft area that was reserved for Disney guests, and there seemed
to be 500 people in this spot. The beach was over loaded with vendors, it became quite annoying and I
eventually lost my patience with them. The water was beautiful and the views of the ocean were
gorgeous. The surf was really brutal in this spot and the undertow was ferocious. I don't suggest this
would be a great place for small children to play on the beach. The staff at the hotel were downright
nasty and complained when we used the rest rooms on the beach and got sand on the floor. Over all I
suggest skipping the tour of the Atlantis. We only stayed for 3 hours and left...Our servers suggested
next time grabbing a taxi from the ship for $3 a person, going to the Sheraton hotel (located right next to
the Atlantis) and using their beach. Cost difference is amazing for practically the same experience, with
the exception of playing dodge 'em with the Bahamian drivers over by the ferry terminal. My
suggestion...go shopping, hang out on the boat, go on the snorkeling excursion...save the beach for
Castaway Cay

When we contacted the Excursion Manager Francois (oh yes, I do name names)He refused to refund
our monies, and tried to placate me with a free float and bike rental in Castaway Cay. Hmmm $50 in
equipment rentals for a $250 rip-off? I am still persuing this with Disney directly.

Freeport was a much nicer experience, clean friendly. We had a wonderful time shopping a speaking
with the locals. Well worth a trip to the international bazaar. There are also some small shops right off
the ships gangplank if you don't feel like going into town. The women working there were pleasant and
not agressive in there sales techniques. We actually found alot of nice little items there.

Castaway Cay is undescribable. We went snorkeling and noted how much more the reef had come in
since our last trip on the Magic. The adult only beach was serene, peaceful and the best part of the trip.
I would love to just sail there and use the ship as a hotel for 4 days :)

food was good...you have to try the sea bass at Triton's or Lumiere's it was the best! even the fast food
was surpisingly good. Much better quality than the Mickey burgers served in the parks.

The bar staff was friendly and attentive, drinks reasonably priced. I loved the shopping (but I am a true
Mickey fanatic) and purchased a bunch of exclusive cruise line merchandise on the ship.

Definitely worth the trip. Will try to add more at a later date....

Our cruise was one of the best family vacations imaginable. What a way to relax after the hustle and
bustle of Disney World. We were on deck six mid ship. I would highly recommend this one to anyone with
a family since it is only one deck above the Oceaneer Club and Lab. Since we had done all of the check
in at the Port Orleans Hotel...all we had to do was to find our room. What a room. Even though it was in
the next to cheapest category, it was bigger than any stateroom we had on the SS Norway. We had a
full bath with tub, inroom safe, vanity space galore, a king size bed and a convertable sofa bed. Our
cabin steward Marissa was a dream. She treated us as if we were her only people. Our first night we had
dinner at TRITON'S. the food was good but our waiters were not. They could not remember the little
details. Things like my wife likes iced tea with lemon, I like decaf coffee.... Our show the first night was
HERCULES. Again it was ok.The food at breakfast and lunch both on deck(buffet and poolside) and in
the dining room were very good, but dinners were rather unimaginative. The one exception which is one
thing that I would recommend to anyone was PALO. The food, service, and atmosphere were
exceptional. Another nice treat was that if you book your cruise with American Express, you get a special
guided tour of the bridge of the ship. The real star of the ship however was the Oceaneer Club and Lab.
Our seven year old daughter did not want to leave some evenings. There was so much to do for kids of
all ages. The other high point was the private island Castaway Cay. All the amenities such as
hammocks, beach umbrellas, lounge chairs, sand chairs, were all there. We rented floats and went out
in the water for a day of fun! The activities on board ship were nonstop, even if you chose to stay on the
ship instead of getting off at Nassau and Freeport. The was everything from stage shows to cooking
demonstrations and wine tastings. Check out was also a breeze. Your luggage tags which are provided
are color-coded, so that once you disembark youlookfor you color find your bags and take them to the
check in area of whichever airline you used. Check-in there board the busses and you off to the airport
for your trip home.
