The facilities were nice. Our stateroom was spacious. Our cabin steward was wonderful and
very attentive. We were very pleased with the
accomodations that were provided and they were large compared to other cruises we have
been on.
Dinner was reserved seating but breakfast and lunch were open seating. We liked our waiter
and busboy for dinner, but the service for
breakfast and lunch was nothing short of horrible. They often messed up our orders and the
silver on the table almost always had dirty spots.
We also encountered several rude dining room inviduals, including waiters, busboys and the
maitre'd. If you need help with the dining room we
found the assistant Maitre'd to be very friendly and helpful. Being an Alaskan cruise
there were a lot of seafood options as well as a lot of beef
options, but there was rarely any poultry on the menu.
The room service staff was friendly but they never managed to get the order correct and
the items that were available were limited compared to
other cruises we have been on.
The cruise staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the passport to fitness program. There
was hardly any nightlife and only one late night buffet
the entire week. The entertainment was definitely geared towards the senior crowd.
There was a good variety of shore excursions but we did not find them worth the cost and
once you arrived in port the locals provided some of
the same excursions for MUCH less than the ship charged.
Overall, we enjoyed Alaska and the scenery was beautiful and something everyone should
experince, but you might look around at the offerings
of the other ships that cruise the area, especially if you are part of the younger
generation.
