As this was my honeymoon, and our first HAL cruise, the experience was enjoyable overall.
Given the 10-day cruise length and HAL's typical
clientele, we were not surprised being one of perhaps 10 couples under 40 on board. The
itinerary was altered by the captain by going to Barbados
first, as we had 30 foot seas two nights in a row.
The service was impeccable on HAL, and the cruise was very relaxing and low-key, which was
perfect for the honeymoon. The only gripe we had
was the overall lack of activities or alternative dining for the younger set. WE only
participated in 2. The entertainment was fine for a cruise ship, as
HAL seems to be upgrading entertainment management.
One other highlight was going on an engine room tour - for 1.5 hours! The eight of us got
to see everything related to the engine room.
I would go on HAL again, given the level of service I received, but perhaps on a 7 day
cruise.
