This was our second trip on the Veendam. It is a beautiful ship with an attentive crew. We had a room with a veranda and really enjoyed it. This was
our second room with a veranda and we will probably aways have one from now on. While the veranda is small, it gives you the opportunity to enjoy
the outside at any time of day without the need to prepare yourself for others.

The entertainment was just OK. The comedian just wasn't funny; but, the ventriloquist was outstanding. As always, the cast outfits are more than first
class.

HAL does a good job of providing activities during shipboard time. The Cruise Staff is active and involved. We stopped at HAL's own island. It just
isn't ready except for beach time. The snorkling trip was poor; the boat was overcrowded and the fish were not (it's not Cozemel). We took the
Stingray City snorkrling trip at Grand Caymen; everybody needs to do this once. It's really neay to pet them (the catermaran crew was really helpful
here.

The food was OK and that's probably as good as it gets when you are serving 600 people at a time. I found the appertizers and deserts the best.
Hamburgers by rhe Lido pool (with grilled buns) can't be beat.

The secret is thge Navigation deck pool area. There are always open deck chairs and deck staff bring lemonaid and iced tea during the day. And,
they have pool games to keep things interesting.

Overall, I rate HAL high. It's well run and you get good value.
