The Westerdam was our first cruise. My husband's nervousness about two days at sea was put to rest after five minutes on board. Our
bags were in our room and the party had started on deck. The room was more spacious than we had expected and were overwhelmed by
the prompt, efficient and courteous service. We have since been on another cruise and believe that the no tipping required policy leads to
excellent service. (This year we took RCCl. The service wasn't as prompt or efficient unless they expected a tip.) The cruise was such a
wonderful experience that we took another in 1997 and have a deposit for 1998.

It will take a lot for any cruise line to surpass Halland America's serviec in our book.
