This was our first cruise and my husband and I took our teenage daughter and three of her
friends. The choice was determined by date of school vacation
and budget, so we were limited. My parents had been on the Majesty before NCL bought it
and liked it. All the things I expected to have problems with
went incredibly smoothly, such as getting to and from and on and off the ship. The cabins
were small but adequate. We had an outside cabin on Deck 3
with a goodsized window, the girls had an interior quad right across the hall.
Neither the cruise line nor the travel agent informed us beforehand that the itinerary was
changed and would not include Cancun. This didn't matter to us,
but might be a problem for some.
Our cabin was kept spotless, ice always in the bucket. The bathroom was small but
adequate, with an excellent shower that could be handheld with good
water pressure. The cabin steward valiantly tried to keep up with the girls mess!
Our cabin steward went above and beyond--when one of the girls got seasick, I arrived at
their cabin to find the steward giving her hands and feet an
acupressure message while stirring the bubbles out of some ginger ale and simultaneously
cleaning the cabin. Too bad they don't let you take these
people home.
The dining room staff was also wonderful and interesting, from over forty different
countries.
The food was okay. Of the six of us, five don't care much about food so it didn't matter.
There could be more choices in the entrees. This is not a gourmet
food ship, but you won't starve.
I won money in the casino, so I thought it was wonderful. It wasn't overly crowded, not
too much smoke, and very nice staff.
It all turned out to be an excellent choice for the girls who participated in everything
offered, dancing all night, entering every game, and really getting into
the shore excursions.
