-Positive Aspects of the cruise-
When we got off the plane, an NCL representative was waiting for us right at the gate. If
she had not been there, I don't
think we would have been able to find the bus!
The staff on NCL is very frienly and most willing to help you. Our waiter, cabin steward,
bus boy, and the receptionists
were very friendly.
The Midnight buffets were good. There was something different everynight.
The pool side activities were exciting and up-beat. On Thursday, there was a congo line,
dancing, limbo, and a Carribean
buffet.
-Negative Aspects of the Cruise-
The first meal I ate onboard was at Seven Seas dining room for Lunch. I ordered the Cajun
Fish. It didn't taste very good
in the first place, and as I cut into it, I find out it is still raw in the middle. Not
good. The fish on-board (except for
Smoked slamon, I didn't try that) was BAD. The Catfish tasted... dirty. No other way to
explain it. The Steak was good at
the Captain's Gala, but small. The portions weren't very baronial as they stated in the
brochure.. they were quite small.
Our cabin had an obstructed view, and if you look at the ship layout, our cabins are much
smaller than the others. The
Bathroom was horrible. The Shower consisted of a curtan, and a showerhead. 2 people can't
fit in the bathroom, and the
floor would always be wet, since there was no border on the floor to keep the water from
going all over the place.
The poolside was a bit cramped.
The ship had 4 elevators, and at times.. 2 were not in service.
If you have a choice, ask to dine at 4 Seasons. It is more nicley decorated. And it isn't
used at much, so it is in better
condition. The Seven Seas is used for the Midnight buffets, unlike 4 Seasons, but maybe
the food is better in Seven Seas.
The ship Vibrated a lot in both dining rooms, its real bad.
There were some people that were nautious for the entire trip. The Stabilizing fins are a
joke.
The chocoholic buffet wasn't as good as I thought it would be... the chocolate was good,
but they didn't have a lot to
choose from.
The cruise was only going to 3 ports and we couldn't go to Cancun. We were not allowed to
stop in Cacun because it was
windy. They said it would be dangerous for Tenders. So we were in Cozumel for a while.
The Tenders while in the alternative port (instead of Cancun) was horrible. We were
tendered 30 minutes away from the
regularly scheduled pier in Cozumel. The lines were very long and we had to wait 20 - 30
mnutes for a tender.
I wouldn't go on Leeward again, but I would consider a different NCL ship. I would give
this ship a 'C' overall.
