When my family got off of the Hampton Jitney, we got a taxi. Unfortunately, the driver had
no clue where the ship's port was. In fact, we my mother told him to
take us to port authority, he took us to a bus stop! So I strongly recomend having a map
if you're going to take a taxi. When we finally got to the port an hour
after boarding had started, all we had to do was fill out a few forms that we had not yet
filled out, so that we could get our boarding passes, and then we got
on right away.
Since we did not yet have an assigned table, after we dropped our stuff off in our
cabin, we went down to the Lido Lounge to get our table. We
were fairly dissappointed when we did not get the early seating, but were later thankful.
While out on the ocean cruising to Bermuda, you cannot expect the
calmest seas. Even though the seas were rather rough on the way there, the ship kept
amazing stability. While at sea, in the Sports Bar (next to the Lido Card
room) was a table with popcorn, pretzals, and natchos. In the Lido card room, there were
always plenty of games, and they were rerstocked everyday.
Everyone in my family except for me participated in the Sports Afloat activities. At
every port, the Sports Afloat had walks, and did all kinds of activities. At St.
George's, one of the men from my dinner table and I walked around the northern tip of the
island fishing. I definatey recomend taking your own rackle with
you if you like to fish, and take some squid for bait. In Hamilton, some friends and I
went on the Eureka Party Boat fishing excursion, which I don't recomend!
It is not NCL's fault that this excursion was not worth the money; it was the crew's
fault. First of all, since the reefs were protected, the captain took us to a flat
sand area about sixty feet deep. Since only about 7 fish had been caught in an hour, and
everyone was complaining, the captain took us to another place
where even less fish were caught. The boat advertised for ot's large sun deck, when there
was no room for anyone to lay down!
On Wednesday nights in
Hamilton, there is Harbor Night out on Front Street, where Bermuda citizens bring there
crafts and sell them. I took many pictures at harbor night. Our room
steward was just as they are supposed to be: "They're there when you're not, and when
you're there, they aren't."
The dining room food was so good that on
some nights, I ordered multiple entrees. Our waiter, Spiros, was the best. He always gives
you his true opinion about the food, and was always extremely
cheerful. When our table discovered lemonade, our busboy had it for us every night. The
comedian, Hank McGauley, and the singer, George Solomon, were
outstanding. the reason I rated the showroom's entertainment lower, was because I have
never liked those Broadway show's. Horseshoe Bay was beautiful. I
recomend taking your own snorkeling equipment, and snorkeling out by the rocks. Overall,
this had to be one of my favorite cruises. If you have any
questions, please e-mail me at HDREI96@aol.com.
