Just returned from the Norwegian Crown. The South American trip is very interesting, but
much designed from an older
crowd. The average age of 67. We felt like teenagers. Embarcation was slow and
disorganized, especially after such a long
flight to Santiago, and then a 2-3 hour bus ride to the ship. The Norwegian Crown is
somewhat over-rated in it's beauty
and needs a face lift. However, the food in the dining room was excellent, with a lot of
variety. No complaints, except that
the dining room is very noisy, due to the metal design on the ceiling.
NCL has a long way to go to get out of the middle group of cruise lines. Little things
like having to pick up your passports
on the day of arrival in Buenos Aires at 5:30 am, and not getting off the ship until
11:00am was needless. Also, the last
morning at breakfast was very disorganized, and it was well "we have our tips"
lets get ready for the next bunch....Couldn't
even get cheese in my omelet.
One recommendation is to stay at least a week in Buenos Aires. It is an exciting and very
interesting city, and was one of
the highlights of the trip.
We did have a nice time, and were able to see places that are not on the usual cruises.
It's not warm in the summer, so if
you are looking for sun, this might not be the trip for you.
In closing, the food was outstanding, and our waiter was as good as they get! It was a
good value!
