Bottom line: Did we have a good time on the Norwegian Star? Yes, we did.

I decided to take this cruise with my children (age 7 and 15). Since my husband was working, one of my friends joined us instead of him.

We booked a suite on the seventh deck which was great. We had a very large window overlooking the promenade deck and the water beyond. I loved
sitting on a lounge chair on the deck right near our window. It was also great to be close to all the ships amenities. The ship is not glamorous but it is well
kept and clean. I enjoyed the fact that it is more intimate with a smaller passenger capacity.

We ate in the dining room for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day except one. The service and food in the dining room was superb. Our waiter, Omar
was outstanding. He went out of his way to make my son feel important. I avoided the buffets (except the gala and the chocolate buffet) as I thought
these were poor. I live in Las Vegas and have become spoiled with the quality of buffets available here.

I enjoyed being at sea more than the ports. We never docked in Calica as it was stormy so we went on to Cozumel. My son and I made the mistake of
taking the beach party excursion which turned out to be a booze cruise. We only had 1 hour and 20 minutes at the beach at a cost of $36 each with the
remaining time being on a boat with all the alcohol you could drink. I liked Roatan very much as it is unspoiled and totally non-commercial. We had wanted
to go on the dolphin excursion but this sells out right away and we missed it! We went on an excursion to the beach and probably could have taken a taxi
to the same place for a lot less money. The beach was very crowded with NCL guests but the water was beautiful and the reef was close enough to swim
to.

Back on the ship, there were many activities for the children and my children refer to this cruise as their favorite vacation. The children spent more time in
the disco than the adults did. Teenagers were allowed in the disco until 11:30 pm by which time all the adults were sleeping! This is definately a cruise for
families or married couples. There was very little activity in the disco or lounges late at night even though the average passenger age was 34.

We did attend some daytime activities including bingo, art auctions and pool games but these were not my biggest priority. I did enjoy the spa and had
several treatments including facials and a massages, which were great. These services are offered at reduced rates on days the ship is in port. It is also a
good idea to book a hairdresser appointment early for the formal night as these appointments sell out.

I would recommend this cruise if you are looking to unwind, read, enjoy fresh air and fine dining.
