This was our first cruise on a large megaship (sailed the BVI's on a three masted schonner
last year) and we loved it. The
ship is less than one year old and it was beautiful. It was clean and polished everywhere.
Service was great and the food
was wonderful after the first night. Somehow we were not impressed the first night, but
each night thereafter, the food
improved to 'nice restaurant' quality. The sea was rough with storms in the area, but we
were quite comfortable. No one in
our group suffered any sea sickness even though the ship employees said that the rough
seas were unusual. We had a
veranda cabin and I would recommend that to anyone if price is not a problem. To be able
to be outside at night as the
ship sailed and to be able to watch the arrival each morning was great for us. We had
friends who were inside and they did
not enjoy their room. service overall was great except for the first few meals in the
dining room when we seemed not to get
along with the waiter. He and the food seemed to improve with each night. I was extremely
impressed with the ease of
embarkation and disembarkation. Princess seemed to have it all together. To get 2000
people on and off that ship without
seeming to stand in long lines was amazing to me. The passenger to ship area was good so
that I really only noticed how
many people there were on board at poolside. Otherwise, I really felt that we had the ship
almost to ourselves. Overall, I
think we had a great first experience and plan many other cruises. I hope they are all as
good as this one was for us.
