I was aboard the Grand Princess on the its 4th voyage. As you may imagine from a 16 year old, I mostly hung out in the teen room (off limits) and in the
virtual reality center. It was really exciting for most people who were under 18 or so to be able to go into the virual reality center and play air hockey, ride
the simulators, or play almost anything. The only problem was that you could spend a fortune in the place!!! The teen room was also pretty kool. There
were activities whenever we were not in port or at meals. Usually they lasted until 1am and then you were off alone with your friends. The things I
absolutely loved were the ports of call. I mean, who has ever been to Istanbul, Turkey before? or Athens? or Venice? or Monte Carlo? etc. I believe that
these were the best ports of any cruise so far I have been on. As far as food went, it was pretty good for the most part. The soups amd pastas were
usually the best of the whole meal. Make sure you eat everythig for dinner though because they offer NO MIDNIGHT BUFFETS!!!!!! This was a surprise to
me; the first night they had one, but after that, nope. You could always go to the sit down in the Lido on deck 12 I believe which was open 24H, but who
wants that? In the way of things to do, there were 3 pools open to everyone during the day, a basketball court and a tennis court in 1, and a well
maintained gym. Anything you want is pretty much there. As for less active things to do, there's bingo, the art auction, but not as many other things as I
would have expected (large group games, etc). At night time, things begin to close up. You can always go play chess at the human-sized chessboard up
on deck, or you can go to the disco up top the entire ship. The disco is very nice, and large, but the DJ needs to learn a little better taste of music.... He
never played anything I heard before, at least when I was up there. Ususally you didn't get past the entrance unless you were 17. Well, if you are going
on the Grand Princess, you will have fun. e-mail me for any other questions you may have.
