We were scheduled to leave Oklahoma City on 1 July. Our aircraft was late in leaving due to a
mechanical problem. This caused us to miss our connecting flight out of Salt Lake City and thus
missing the ship in Seward, Alaska that evening. We followed Princess Cruise Lines instructions and
contacted them and our travel agent immediately from Oklahoma City. We were told that we must go
on to Alaska and would be taken to the first port of call which was Skagway, Ak. This meant we would
miss nearly 3 days of our cruise. Princess Cruise Lines indicated that we had to do this or lose our
entire investment on the 7 day cruise. Princess also stated that we were the responsibility of the
airline carrier and couldn't do anything for us until we arrived on the ship in Skagway, Ak on 4 July.
We did purchase a Travel Insurance that our agent sold us. It was not the Travel Insurance that
Princess Cruise Lines offered.
My wife and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We were vey disappointed in the way
Princess treated us by leaving us stranded in Anchorage, Ak until we caught a flight to Skagway, Ak
on 4 July. We missed all Glaciers, along with entertainment and other perks that come with going on
a cruise.
After finally arriving in Skagway, Ak in the afternoon of 4 July, we were taken to the ship and
continued on what was left of our 7 day Alaskan Cruise.
We did enjoy the comfort of our room and the scenery from Skagway, Ak to Vancouver, BC. The food
and service was just wonderful on board.
We are planning to possibly go on another cruise in the future. I will think twice before I pick Princess
Cruise Line due to their unwillingness to help stranded passengers.
Yes, we did get reimbursed for 2 missed days. There was no breakdown of what they decided to give
us back. We think they fell way short since now we must pay full fare once again to see what we
missed. Additionally, Princess Cruise Lines offered no apology.
