My cruise on the Regal Princess was the best display of quality service I have ever
experienced. From the moment of embarkation, you are treated like royalty.
The staff is there to welcome you from day one and they never stop greeting you the entire
time. I cruised with my 71 year old grandmother and my 29 year old
sister. We had an inside room on the baja deck, room B299. Although my first impression of
the room was not very good, I soon realized that it was big enough
to suit our needs. Because of all the things to do on the ship, you really aren't in your
room very much. Our room was at the back of the ship which provided nice
access to the deck in back, but also caused for lots of movement when we hit rough waters.
We were there over the Easter holiday and being a catholic I was
very happy to see that there was a priest on board for Easter Mass. The lido deck where
the Cafe Del Sol and the pools are located were quite spacious. With so
many passengers on board, I never felt like there wasn't enough room. There were plenty of
lounge chairs available for soaking up the rays. The bar stewards
were especially cordial and attentive. They make you feel like family. My sister and I had
Daniel serving us Strawberry Daquiri's quite often. We would even run
into him in the disco at night. Since he was from England, we nicknamed him London.
The food in the dining room was absolutely superb. The pasta was out of this world. Our
dining captain Rosario took special care of us on pasta night and
probably got sick of us asking for recipes. But he never let it show if he did. Our waiter
Efren/Phillipines and jr. waiter Attilla/Hungary were just as attentive. They
got to know exactly what you liked whether it be dessert or drinks and had it waiting for
you without you even asking for it. Sometimes we would sit at other
tables for breakfast and lunch. Mario/Italy was also an exceptional waiter. All of the
dining room staff were just as great. They even got to know you by name.
The Champagne Waterfall put on by the dining staff was lots of fun. Fill up those seven
hundred glasses, have your picture taken and dance with the waiters.
Complimentary champagne as well.
The tropical party was also lots of fun. Dance the Macarena and the YMCA with the cruise
staff. Plus a buffet that is out of this world. There was also an
incredible buffet at midnight with tons of food and beautiful ice sculptures. You will
never go hungry that's for sure.
I have never received as much attention as I did during this cruise. The staff are always
asking if you are comfortable and having a good time. I thought that due
to the price of the cruise that my sister and I would feel like we were the youngest
people on board. With a few exceptions we basically were. But even though
the majority of the passengers were older, it was still alot of fun. I would do it again
in a heartbeat. In fact, my sister and I wanted to stay on board for another
ten days. I will definately cruise again and it will be with Princess. My cruise was very
memorable and relaxing. I had the time of my life.
