This was our third cruise on this marvelous vessel. We made a previous Baltic cruise on Royal Princess in August
1991, and took her through the Panama Canal in November 1992. While there are may newer ships in service,
Royal remains a classic cruising vessel, combining the ambience of traditional ships of the past with features
appealing to cruise clientele of the 1990's. Royal is comfortable in terms of the size and configuration of its cabin
and public spaces, and in vessel stability in less than ideal sea conditions. The almost perfect condition of the
vessel is a tribute to the pride of its officers and crew. On our most recent cruise on Royal, we were accompanied
by 4 family members. The food and food service was excellent, with an imaginative selection of salads, appetizers,
entrees, desserts, and side dishes. The wine list offered a wide selection of reasonably priced wines from a wide
region of the world. There is always a pasta available at lunch and dinner, prepared by the table captain. Our
needs for special diet requirements, which are many, have always been graciously accommodated. We were
especially impressed with the debarkation procedures in effect at the end of our last cruise. It was by far the best
such procedure we have experienced over all cruises we have taken.
