I have high expectations, and the Royal Princess met the vast majority of them. I would
book the same cabin for
another cruise of this ship today if I could. While there were a few nits. . .our cabin
steward was below average, the
breakfast buffet menu in the Lido Cafe should be improved, the casino should be avoided
because of the tighteness of
the slots, the gift shop could be enhanced. . .the overall cruise experience was great.
Our cabin was larger and more
comfortable than I expected, the dining room ranged from very good to superb, the ship
didn't seem crowded even
though it had a full complement of 1,200 passengers, and getting on and off the ship went
very smoothly. The shore
excursions, while overpriced in some cases, were high quality and well organized. The
Royal isn't young by today's
cruising standards, but I hope she continues sailing a long time and I hope I'm on a
future cruise.
