This was my 2nd Princess Cruise. The first being on the Dawn Princess. These ships are almost identical. My past cruises
include RCI, NCL, CCL, and Celebrity. I beleive Princess delivers a semi-formal cruise on a mass-scale, and it does this
extremely well. Pricess provides an excellent value, that is attractively packaged, and enjoyed by the upper middle class.

SHIP: The ship is large, elegant, and spotlessly clean. The traffic flow is user friendly and rarely feels crowded, even with
2,000 other travelers. I like that you are not forced to pass thru the Casino to get to other parts of the ship. The ship may
not feel crowded due to the large number of staterooms with private balconies. Perhaps people stay in their cabins to
enjoy the balconies, instead of using the public areas. But, beware, the balconies are tiny, unless you splurge for a suite
or mini-suite.

THE GOOD THINGS: 1. The staff are great. Very friendly and professional staff. The perfect mix for a ship like this!

2. The food. Still the best overall in it's class. I think the food is better than the highly rated food on the Celebrity ships.
For example, on two seperate evenings Caviar was offered in the dining room. This was never offered on Celebrity. I also
think the "bakery" items were superior.

3. The exercise programs and staff. Take a class or two, it helps to work off some of that great food! Mike and Paul, the
Aerobic Instructors do an excellent job.

4. Pools and hot tubs. These are open 24 hours. I wish other cruise lines followed this procedure. It is a great way to
relax, under the stars.....this is a vacation right???

5. Captains Cocktail Party. This is held on the four levels of the large beautiful atrium. By having this event in such a large
area, it eliminates long reception lines.

6. Variety acts. Great entertainment. Also worth mentioning, the group in Horizon Court that perfoms in the evening. They
do a nice job with 40's, 50's, and Big Band style music. Very nice.

7. Promenade Deck. This walkway goes ALL the way around the ship! Great for an evening stroll, or just relax on the teak
lounge chairs covered with cushions.

SPLIT POINT: 1. Laundry Facilities. It is nice that Princess offers a self- service laundry on several levels with Maytag
washers and dryers. No coins are required, they are free of charge. Unfortunately, the machines are quite a popular item.
The demand far exceeds the supply. Be prepared to wait your turn.

BAD POINTS: 1. The evening Broadway style shows in the Princess Theater. If you must go (don't go, don't go, believe me
don't go), see the show called "Pirates", definately skip "Odysea". It's a shame, I can see extensive effort and cost went
into these productions, but they just do NOT cut the mustard! Do yourself a favor, skip the shows, take a walk, have an
after dinner cocktail in handsome Wheelhouse Bar, relax on an outside deck, or if you must..... do your laundry then,
there may not be a line at this time for the washers and dryers!

2. Ice Cream. If you are an ice cream fan, be prepared to pay extra for your sundae near the pool. I said it on the last
Princess review and will continue to stress this point. I think it cheapens such a great cruise product to charge extra for
ice cream! COME ON PRINCESS, even NCL and Carnival gives free ice cream!

CONCLUSION: Princess is GREAT! I would strongly recommend this cruise for any- one looking for an overall superior
semi-formal cruise!!

***SPECIAL NOTE*** I hope someone from Princess reads these reviews. If so, our Bus Boy in the Marquis Dining Room,
second seating, table 028, was the best Bus Boy I have seen. His name is Robin. Please promote him to waiter! Our
waiter Antonio was also superb!

I would be happy to answer any questions via e-mail. Next cruise....Costa Romantica - March 29, 1998.
