After 15 cruises to the Eastern,Western,Southern Caribbean, and Bermuda.........we were
stunned!!! Princess absolutely rules the Caribbean for
service, comfort, cabin amenities, and consistent food quality; Horizon Court 24 hour food
service ( including a nightly sit-down Bistro service) is a
definite plus! Why didn't the other major lines institute this policy long ago? Now one
can dine WHEN they want; with WHOM they want; and WHERE
they want! No hurrying back from a late shore excursion and scrambling for room service
with a lack-luster menu.........just pop up to the Horizon
Court and eat whatever you want!! A great option for when you want to skip the dining room
that evening, too!!!
POSITIVES: A great selection of moderately priced shore excursions.....superior service
& food quality choices in the main dining rooms each and
every night.........a totally unique and refreshing way to execute the Captain's Cocktail
Party; Princess lets all the passengers enter the 4 deck
Atrium from any level, and mingle, dance, drink their favorite complimentary cocktails and
relax in a great evening of elegant socializing.......La
Trattoria pizzeria a definite plus!! Best pizza's and calzone's this side of
Jamaica!!....One of the most comfortable standard inside cabins I have
ever experienced; roomy, comfortable, fresh fruit basket daily; plush terry cloth robes
and snappy room service!......Wheelhouse Bar and Atrium
lounge some of the most luscious rooms afloat for decor, intimacy.....
NEGATIVES: Perhaps this is knit-picking, but a surcharge for Ice Cream at the Lido Bar
called Sundae's??? Princess please!!! Even NCL, RCI, and
Carnival don't charge for that!!! If Haagen-Daas is too expensive to serve, switch to
Breyer's or Baskin Robbins!!!......Even though the proscenium
stage Princess Theater has terrific sightlines, with plush velvet red seats, the floor
shows were awful, and let down this otherwise classy vessel;
Who was the lame producer who thought up that dud Odyssea??? Forget it!!! Pirates High
Jinx on the High Seas was satisfactory,
though.........stick the entertainers in the Vista Lounge; a tremendous improvement over
the Princess Theater shows!!!....Embarkation was the
slowest I have ever experienced; disembarking was one of the best; go figure that one!!!
All in all, well done Princess!!! We eagerly await the Dawn, Grand, Sea and Ocean
Princess, which I see in 2000 will visit Margarita Island, Curacao,
St.Vincent, St.Kitt/Nevis, and St. Thomas!! Great!!
