This was our second cruise with Princes (Star Princess in 1995). This was the most beautiful ship of the four we've sailed. I was astounded by the
amount of marble. The beauty it adds is remarkable. Like our 1995 Princess cruise, the private island was passed over because of rough seas. We
were disappointed by this and were left wondering what percentage of their cruises actually get to stop there. The other ports of call were very nice,
with the exception of Ocho Rios. It is a shame that Dunns River Falls is such a nice stop because the rest of Jamaica is such a pit and the people
terribly pushy. Grand Cayman with Stingray City was a thrill. Cozumel is always nice. Save yourself the money if you are looking for snorkeling by
hiring a taxi and heading to Chancanaab (sp). It is cheap ($7 cab ride and $7 entry fee) and well maintained. The food was good, not outstanding.
Be aware that there are no midnight buffets on Sun Princess - which may allow you to get to sleep at a decent hour for a change. The pizzaria is
very good, expecially the Hawaiian pizza. Our dining room service was quite good. Chris our waiter and Gelu our asst. waiter were both very friendly
and professional The entertainment was laughably bad. The friends with whom we were cruising, as well as out table mates - from Australia - all
agreed that Princess needs to seriously rethink who they think they are entertaining. We couldn't find many who were. The weather was very good
throughout the trip, despite the cancellation of Princes Cays. Only two days had seas approaching 'rough'. As someone prone to sea sickness, I was
thankful. We had very warm temperatures throughout the week and very sunny skies. These factors, along with the service of the dining room staff
and beauty of the ship made this one of the best cruises we've had.
