This is a gorgious ship. Our cabin was the largest of any that we have had on any ship. It
was extremely spacious and
was appointed with luxurious anmienities. The dining room was beautiful---however, the
food and menu selection in the
main dining room at dinner was poor. From the first night, the selection went downhill
until by the last night there was
nothing that either my husband or I wanted to eat. Unlike, other cruise lines, there were
limited offering of expensive
items like lobster or steak. If it wasn't for the alternative Italian restaurant on board,
the meal selection would have been
even worse. We ate in the Italian restaurant twice and both meals were enjoyable. On the
other hand, breakfast and the
buffets at lunch in the Lido were outstanding. A better selection that what we had at
dinner! For this type of cruise line
that keeps braging about it's'5 star cuisine', we were very disappointed.
We had much better meals on Celebrity for a lot
less money. The service in the main dining room also was inept at times, depending on
which server you had that
evening. It was apparent that for some, it was their first cruise job. Again, on a line of
this caliber, only experienced
personnel should be aboard. The same held true for the cabin stewardess. Our stewardess
had only been on board a
week. Others were only on board a day. While our stewardess was nice, we would come back
to our cabin around 4
p.m. to rest and get ready for dinner, only to keep finding her in there cleaning the
bathroom or wanting to turn down
our sheets for the night. We kept telling her to come back later, only to find her in the
cabin the next day again around
the same time.
The entertainment was poor in the nightclub. More like a high school amateur night.
After a couple of
shows, we chose to skip the rest of the offerings and spent our evenings instead in the
casino. On this type of cruise, the
ports of call and shore excurisions are extremely important. I felt that Radisson did an
outstanding job in this category.
We took every shore excursion in St. Petersbury and they all were fantastic. Would we go
on this ship again? Probably
night. While we really loved our cabin and the ship, the service and food were far below
our expectations.
