This was an excellent cruise on an excellent ship. The staff really works hard to make the
trip enjoyable for the passengers. The dining
room staff and room steward especially provide friendly and caring service.
We were a party of 7 (my wife and I in our thirties, children ages 10, 9, and 5, and my
parents in their 60's. Families are accomodated
very well, the kids had a great time in the childrens program.
We had two cabins, cat D on deck 7. I had read on the net that the cat D cabins are
smaller than the photo in the brochure - this is true.
What the brochure shows is the cat C cabins, which are 50% wider than cat D. Never the
less, there was comfortable space for all of us.
Food in the dining room ranged from exceptional to very good. Our waiter was really good
about recommending which dishes he felt were
good, and which ones should be passed on. The service was excellent. The head waiter came
by on the first night to make sure we knew
they were there to please us - if we didn't like a dish, send it back and get another,
etc.
Meals (casual breakfast & lunch buffets) in the Windjammer Cafe were pretty ordinary.
Not a lot of variety. The ice cream bar in the
afternoons was always a hit, though.
There was a good variety of entertainment - in general I feel the show lounge
entertainment was the highest caliber of the various cruise
lines we've been on (Cunard, Holland America, Princess, Royal). Wave Revue, the ship's
dance/singing troupe were very talented. The
lounge itself is great - comfortable seating and good site lines.
There were 2115 passengers aboard (double occupancy capacity is 1950), we were one of a
large number of families on board. The only
times the ship seemed crowded were at the midnight buffets (long lines), and around the
pool on the at-sea day.
The only drawback to this ship is it's stabilization (hence the only low rated area). We
had moderate seas (5-8 feet) on the last day (an
at-sea day between Malta and Barcelona) and the ship had a lot more motion than I would
have expected. We figured this is due to its
height (11 stories) to low draft (7 meters) ratio. I would probably not want to go trans
Atlantic on this ship.
Overall, a very nice vacation.

The headwaiter loved himself and could only be located with the young ladies while in the
dining room, in other words if you had a young lady of 20-25 at
your table then you were offered all the attention. Our waiter and junior waiter were
Number 1 (Bond and Jonesy). The entire cruise the ladies room in
front of the dining room over flowed and that was not appeitzing at all. The food
selection was the poorest I've seen on a ship even the Carnival cruise I
was on, and they are not known for their fine dining. The stablization is the worst
ever!!!!! They really need to fix it. We played BINGO and they don't even
have a BINGO board just a chart with the letters BINGO marked off and they use a very
small cage to take the numbers out--a kids BINGO game. The tours
were good with the exception of the tour in Corsica, it was terrible, we got ripped off we
wrote it up but have never heard anything from Royal Caribbean,
we paid alot of money for the worst day of my life. The life boat drill was too long and
the people that were supervising ours were the rude, rude, rude. No
one should be yelled at and shoved in a small area for the length of time we were held.
Really needs improving. The travel arrangements on our return trip
were not the best either, it took us over 28 hours to get back to the states, different
airlines and disorganization. I won't cruise RCL again until they get
their act back together, maybe they're just getting too big and losing that special touch,
and the prices are too high any more. Come on RCL get with it!!
We're going back to Princess on our next cruise in December.

Overall, this ship is an excellent addition to Royal Caribbean's fleet. The interior is
very nicely decorated, the cabins
are larger than others I have expeirenced in RCCL, and the overall feel of the ship is
very roomy. However, the
strongly disappointing factor in this cruise was the dining room food. The food of a much
lower quality than the
previous cruises on RCCL. The quantity had been increased, but the quality suffered. This
may be because the ship is
new, but only time can tell. The ship does have a minor vibration problem in the aft
sections and can be quite
noticable during heavy seas.

Even though this was our first cruise, my husband and I had an excellent time. We don't
have any other cruise to compare it
to, but we did see other ships and remarks from passengers on those ships that were
negative. There were alot of children
on the ship and you didn't even see them. The children's counselors did an excellent job
at entertaining them and keeping
them out of trouble. The buffet lunches were rather plain and unappetizing, but dining
room food was excellent as was the
staff. Entertainment was great and cruise was just the relaxation we were looking for. We
did take a snorkel tour in Cozumel
that was disappointing. The water there was very dirty, the tour was too crowded and the
underwater sights were very
limited. The snorkel trip at Cayman Islands (Stingray City) was great! We took a party
boat and there were about 10 people
aboard (wouldn't do that again), and the bicycle tour in Jamaica (wouldn't do that again).
The bicycle tour was through a
newly created bumpy, winding, dirt road, and there was little scenery other than the
people in front of you. Disembarkment
of the ship at cruise end was disappointing. It was very hot, you had to wait a long time
to find your own suitcase, check in
and carry it to the truck bound for the airport. Everything on the ship suts down after
breakfast (even the ice and water
machines), giving you the feeling you are now a hot potatoe. After your bill is paid of
course. We will cruise RCL again, and
hopefully some of the lessons we learned will be of value. This was our tenth wedding
anniversary and we did have a great
time!

We had a wonderful time. The Cruise Director, Ken Rush, made everyone feel comfortable and
at home for the start. There
was something to do all the time. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Did have some trouble
with the people at the Purser's
desk not knowing how to handle some things. The bar waiter, Garth was the happiest person
on the ship--and Julie &
Stephan with ShipShape were great fun. It's great to see people really enjoying their
jobs!!!!! Would like to see Ocho Rios
deleted from the itinery for ports of call, as was a concensus of those we talked to.
Really liked the seating in the Orpheum
Theater- comfy. Food was great in the dining room, fair in the Windjammer. Thought the
daily rug change in the elevators
was a novel idea! A very clean and beautiful ship. One lady told us the first night that
we had picked the right ship for our
first cruise--that it would all be downhill from here. We think she was right!!!!!!

This was the first cruise that my husband and I went on. We looked forward to this for a
long time as it was planned a
year in advance. What made it special, is that we had 40 family members onboard from
Canada and the States. It was like
a reunion cruise. Everything was terrific basically, starting with Ken Rush. He was
absolutely superb, a terrific sport and
perfect for his job. He made our trip extra special with his congeniality. Especially when
a few of our guys decided the first
day to throw him in the pool with all his clothes on after the 'Mr. Sexy Leg Contest.' We
also played a joke on him at the
end of the cruise - ask him about the 'horse #6 in his bed.' I am sure the Royal Caribbean
cruise members will never
forget our cruise. One of the members, Tim came up to our group the last night and said
that after being on that ship for
3-1/2 years, that our cruise had to be the best one he was ever on and it was mostly
because of our group. We loved the
music around the pool with 'Heat Wave' and we danced starting 10:00 am. We danced all day
and then in the Carousel
Lounge at night with all of the activities they had planned. The most fun we had was the
night Ken had the 'Adult
Scavenger Hunt' in the Carousel Lounge. Julie, Amy and all of the crew members were just
great in all of the activities.
Especially the Shipshape exercises we did in the pool and out. We cannot forget our bar
waiter 'Anthony' who constantly
entertained us with his twirling of the tray on his finger and his dancing. Garth and
Barry were as much fun too. All of the
bar waiters had a lot of fun entertaining everyone. Stephan was great in teaching us the
'Dollar Wine' dance. We loved it
so much we bought the CD from Heat Wave to bring home. We did have a couple of days that
the weather wasn't very
good, but we still had plenty to keep us busy. We were a little disappointed that we
couldn't have the picnic on CoCoCay. I
think that would have been a lot of fun. We should have gone to Nassau that day like they
almost did, it would have been
warmer. The only thing that I think they could improve on, is the food in the Windjammer.
The breakfasts and lunch
buffets were the same everyday, and the food wasn't as good as in the Dining Room. They
need more of a different
selection at breakfast in the Windjammer every day. Over all we had a terrific time and
will certainly come back to the
RCCL line. We are looking forward to the two new ships we heard they are building that are
twice the size of the
Enchantment. Ask anybody that was on that cruise if they remember the crazy Italian group
that had so much fun and got
everyone else involved in everything. Ask them if they remember Armando and the 'Italian
Stallion?' I think we made as
much of a lasting impression on the ship, as the ship did on us.

My very first cruise was so spectacular that i never wanted any of it to end! I was on two
back-to-back RC cruises on the Enchantment which was
definitely ENCHANTMENT for my family and i. I went on the cruises with my mother, father,
two sisters and one brother-in-law! We had the best two
weeks of our lives!!!! (: I don't know where to begin: i enjoyed EVERYTHING and when i say
everything i mean everything, i loved everywhere from the
staff to the littliest things like the ship and it's qualities! We felt like we wanted to
take our servers home because they were so so generous and
friendly! I especially wanted Julian Jahoo, our head waiter to go home with us!!!! He was
GR-GR-GReat!! (= I got a massage toward the end of our
stay and i loved loved it soo soso very much, it was so relaxing after the long walks on
the excursions that i so much loved!!! I think that i would a
perfect for a job on this ship because i truly loved it so much! i loved the most simple
things on the ship and about it! I can recall one night after being
out pretty late (casino, disco bar, toga party!!!, etc.), my sis and i were room-mates
since her fiance wasn't there, well anyhow we came back into our
room at like 3 or 4 am and she went to bed and i just sat up looking out our bay window as
i sat on the window sill watching the beautiful sky blend
with the awesome waves of the sea!!!! it got me relaxed and able to sleep plus it got me
thinking, about so much! I sat and watched and listend to my
headphones, i had my Davematthewsband cd 'crash' on and 'crash into me' is the song that
most reminds me of this vacation. That's a nother thing,
i was never tired on this cruise, i was so excited to do everything that my relaxation
time was watching the waves or lying in the sun or sitting in the
spa! It was as if u never had any time whatsoever for sleep, at least i didn't want to
make sleep time because sleep just wastes time! Consequently
that is probably why the trip went so fast because i had to get some shut eye!!! (: My
family and i are such the Bingo finatics, so that is another thing
that we loved to do...we went to bingo a bunch of times and each time we won at least one
of us would win, and there was a ton of people there!! we
make a deal that we always split our winnings no matter what, then we headed to CASINO
ROYALE! where i just loved roulette...when we went in
aug97 i was not yet 20 so that was the very first time for me that i ever REALLY gambled
in a casino! i loved it! the workers were always so so helpful!
A song that we heard everytime we went to bingo before bingo started was ENYA's 'sail
away' and that is another song that reminds me of the
cruise vacation!!!! (: i loved it! Is it wrong to not have ONE single negative thing about
the whole double cruise???? i sincerely hope not... Something
else we got to do for a day in Naples italy was hang with some of my dad's family and see
were my dad spent the first ten years of his life before he
came to the states! it was sweet, but i was definitely glad to get back to the ship
because i missed it soo soos much and only after not even a day of
our own time!!!!! (: my dad grew up in Bagnoli, near Avelino and Naples! we had lunch
somewhere in the mountains and saw his old old house! VERY
sweet!!!!! That night back on the ship was the toga party i went to, we partied and had a
blast then the whole party was over and it poured!!!!!
lightning thunder everything, very scary and just in time AFTER The toga party on the pool
deck! i rememeber the whole map out of the ship, i still
know where everything is as if it were yesterday that i had left! and it's been...6
mos.!!! ): gone! ): I loved watching the crew dock and undock the
ship...i was so excited each time that i could not be still, i moved so fast from the
front to the back to each side of the ship like i was gonna miss
something! I just could not miss something, is what it seemed like!!! (: i was so so so
fascinated with watching ALL of it, and... many many many sexy
men on this ship...from the crew (Julian) to the other passangers!!!!! (: Overall (just
because my hands hurt from typing!), i felt this was the Best
VACATION ever, and i have travelled a lot!! This was definitely the everything for every
individual cruise--from partying to touring to just plain old
chilling at the spa, it was GReat and specatacular and wonderful!! (: this came from
Christen Branca at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea OHIO.
