Let me begin by saying that this cruise overall was worth every dollar we spent. It was a
family vacation for me (age 49 ), my
wife (age 48), my daughter (age 21) , and my son (age 18). Overall opinion of ship: It was
big yet not too big and it was
beautiful. There was plenty of deck space. Even though the ship was full there were plenty
of deck chairs . In the pool area
the chair s were crowded in the morning but the sun was so intense that chairs became
available later on.The solarium
pool area(under cover) was air-conditioned and not as crowded.Here's a hint:behind the
exercise room out on deck it is
quiet and plenty of room to lay in the sun.Even though the ship is large it is very easy
to get around without getting
lost. After a few days you learn where everything is located. The ship is very clean and
kept that way.The many areas of glass
keep the ship bright and airy. There is alot of brass that is kept shiny.I have got to say
that in my 7 cruises it is the most
beautiful ship i have been on!!!! Cabins:We chose a category C Cabin 8050 with a
balcony.It was worth the extra
expense. There is nothing like waking up in the morning and looking out your sliding glass
doors to see the seas or the
ports. Here's a hint . If you are taking this exact route then get a cabin with a balcony
on the Port side for the best views. We
were four adults on a long cruise and had plenty of room to sleep , get dressed , sit on
the balcony , or have a cocktail
party for ten people. At nite we sat on the balcony to watch the sunset then later the
waves from the ship then the stars. The
bathroom is big with a tub and shower. The cabin has a refrigerator and a sofa bed. There
is plenty of room for clothes.
Service: None better. From the the cabin steward , the dining room asst.waiter and waiter
to the casino personnel to the
pool service people to the lounge personnel they were all fabulous. Food : Was just ok.I
have had much better food on
Princess Cruises so i was diappointed!!! Entertainment: Excellent. We were entertained by
Ben Vereen , Carol Lawrence and
some unknowns that were great. The cruise director and staff were very good. Ship' Captain
: Captain Wildung was ever so
handsome( per my wife and daughter) , charming , easily acessible, friendly and very
knowledgeable. Seasickness : Again if
you are taking my route there are rough waters with alot of wind for about 48 hours out of
Acapulco and very rough waters
and very heavy wind for 24-36 hours after you cross the canal. My family took bonine and it
worked like a charm.Hint:Captain
Wildung was great.Prior to any rough wind and seas he actually made an announcement on the
p.a. system. Air/Sea
Program: The absolute worst!!! We flew from Phila . to Dallas /Fort-Worth and were
supposed to have a 1 hour lay -over and
then fly to Acapulco on the Charter plane Miami Air and arrive in Acapulco at 12:35pm to
spend the whole day in Acapulco
until the ship left at 10:00pm.To our dismay and aggravation we spent over 8 hours in the
airport at Dallas and arrived on
the ship at 9:30pm missing the entire day in Acapulco. When we arrived on ship there was no
one to show us to our cabin.
Embarkation and Disembarkation: Very smooth at both ends
I have tried to be as helpful as possible. If you have any specific ???? email me at
AArbittier@aol.com.If i was asked would i
recommend this trip and ship the answer would be ABSOLUTELY.
