The Legend of the Seas is by far the nicest ship I have sailed on. Even though there were
2000 passengers on this sailing, both the embarkation and
debarkation were extremely quick. I was expecting to wait a long time to debark but
instead found my color being called almost as soon as I finished
breakfast.
The atrium is breathtaking with glass elevators and marble and polished brass staircases.
We enjoyed the three piece band playing on the Champagne
Terrace each evening.
I only have three main complaints about the ship: 1) There are not enough public
restrooms. I had to go downstairs during dinner to use the closest
restroom to the dining room. 2) There are very few drinking fountains, which is a big
problem while working out in the gym. 3) My major gripe is that there
were too many smokers stinking up the hallways. I complained to the pursers desk about
restricting smoking to the lounges and deck but he said the
company needs to make a policy change. One smoker ruined the tranquility and beauty of
Hubbard Glacier for many passengers. I was happy that
smoking is not allowed in the dining room or main showroom. Since the vast majority of
guests were non-smokers, I feel RCCL should limit the smoking
areas or risk losing their healthy passengers.
The entertainment was excellent. The ship's Wave Revue were fabulous as was Tony Tillman
and Anna Maria Albergetti. Noelle, the cruise director, is a
wonderful singer as well. It would be nice to have a band playing in the afternoon at the
pool.
The fish and steaks were great, but my lobster was inedible. The apple pie and bread
pudding have way too much nutmeg, but the chocolate velvet cake
was to die for.
Overall, I have a wonderful cruise with nice sunny weather, but I won't cruise RCCL again
unless their smoking policy changes.
