Allow me to tell you about a fantastic experience we had! I was traveling with my senior
citizen mom. We spanned 32 year age gap. We both had great
experiences. I can say that there was room for improvement, but, overall it was one of the
best travel experiences of my life. I travel for a living, stay at the best
hotels, see the best staffing avaliable. let me start with the rooms. I had a deluxe cabin
on the 6th level. Outside cabin, with a large window. A little small, but
quite comfortable. Wait to you see the way the comode flushes!! Very well ventalated with
air conditioning. Not stuffy, and very quiet. The only time noise was a
problem was when they dropped anchor, wow! The ship is very stable, i was not sick at all.
Even in hard seas. Some people were however. Very nice overall. I did
visit the suites on the 10th floor and they were great. Big with sliding glass widows and
balcony. Costly, but for a special occasion, maybe worth the extra cash.
Next, the staff. Some great, some very bad! The great ones- pursers-cruise director and
entertainers exceptional. Jeffery, the cruise director, so damn funny
and talented. The dinning room staff was very good, and very entertaining. Ishmail Guremel
our waiter was great, his assistant Karlo very good. Head waiter was
good. Engineering staff very good, concerned with shipp guests needs. Room attendant,
Roscoe, very good, funny. The worst was the Maiter'd. Jean Cluade I
think his name is, unconcerned with guests request and needs. Very arrogant and rude! He
is the worst of all staff members. The other bad sap is Chris Smith the
excursions director, very snippy. Overall, great staff. Next food. Fantastic quality
overrall. No way could you be hungry! One night the lobster was a little dry , but
I still had Two! Midnight cafe's were great. WindJammer Cafe' was a great Idea. Nice
place, with very comfortable surroundings. Food quality overall, very good.
The side tripps can be a bit confusing, very expensive considering you can get the same
trips on the islands with cab drivers. If you do choose this route, be
careful. They are tricky and can scam you. If you choose a trip like this you won't be
sorry.
