This was our second RCCL cruise having sailed on the Grandeur last year. We chose a category C cabin with a veranda (260 square feet) since we were
sailing with two 16 year old boys. The cabin was a triple but RCCL allowed the extra person as long as we brought a sleeping bag. This was no problem for
us since my son sleeps on the floor most of the time. Our cabin had a refrigerator and in room safe, a huge closet and enough drawer space for each of
us to have 4 drawers of our own--and we still had room to spare. The bathroom had a full tub and 3 generous shelves for storing everything. Our steward,
Allen, stored our suitcases for us. We flew into San Juan a day early and stayed at the Wyndam right across from the pier. We highly recommend this hotel
for fellow cruisers.

The ship's itinerary kept us very busy. In fact, I would choose an itinerary with fewer ports of call and more days at sea for our next cruise.

Our first port of call was St. Thomas--which we had all been to before. We tool the St. John's Beach Tour excusion which was a good value. We ferryed to
St. John (which is a beautiful island). We boarded buses for a short tour which ended at Trunk Bay where we snorkled. Iwould take this trip again--the
water is so clear and the sand is like talcum powder.

Our second port was Martinique and all of my internet research said to stay on the boat. The boys did stay, but my husband and I just had to see the
island. We hired a cab for a couple of hours, and our driver Alex gave use a wonderful tour. Contrary to all I had read, he was very friendly, although his
English was very limited. He did enjoy the few French phrases I knew. Once you get through Fort du France, Martinique is truly a lovely island with very
lush and colorful vegetation.

Our next port was Barbados which we made into somewhat of a beach day. We took a cab to Malibu Beach where the boys could rent waverunners and
go parasailing. This is a lovely beach only about 10 minutes from the pier. The proprietor of this beach, however, didn't want to let us in because we were
not part of the tour and she said she was oversold for the day. The tour was not due to arrive for about 2 hours and we assured her that we would not be
taking up her chairs or using her umbrellas. She reluctantly let us in. After a couple of hours, the boys wanted to go back to the boat. After cleaning up,
my husband and I once again hired a cab. Fred took us to Gun Hill and St John's church.

Antigua was a total beach day. We took a cab to Miller's Beach. The boys rented waverunners and we kept cool in the bar. Worth noting is that the boys
were approached repeatedly in Antigua to buy dope.

St. Maartin was my favorite--positively the bluest water I have ever seen. We want on the America's Cup at 9:30. Was a lot of fun albiet a bit overpriced.
Once again the boys headed back to the boat afterwards and my husband and I window shopped and enjoyed some Caribbean cuisine.

Overall, it was a great vacation--The boys really enjoyed it, although their schedules and ideas for fun differ from us. There is a lot of nightlife if you are a
teen--and there were about 120 of them on our cruise. Oh yes, I forget to mention that we had second seating for dinner which I recommend. We usually
had the afternoon snack in the Windjammer to tide us over until dinner.

Have fun on your cruise.
