This was my first cruise and although I have nothing to compare it to, I left this cruise with a wonderful feeling. I have to say that this ship had something for 'all'
ages. There was always something to do, even if you chose not to go ashore with the others. We used the air/sea program. The cost of the ticket was a little
higher than if I had bought the tickets myself, but I figured the transportation to/from the ship would make up for this. The transportation to/from is the ONLY
thing that I did not enjoy. I would recommed sealing all your luggage and marking it,if you go. My brand new bag was torn when I received it and my sisters bag
had been broken into in Puerto Rico. I fault the airline for this, not RCCL. Therefore, I recommend SEALING your luggage before you leave with that plastic wrap.
The Sea-of Luggage that greeted us as we departed the dock was not a fun experience! I spent 1/2 hour looking for my one bag! I recommend putting a large
piece of neon tape around your bag so you can find it. Or maybe the cruise-line could arrange the bags according to time of departure and airline. The
cruise-line requires you to hand your air tickets in a few days prior, so they are aware of what airline you are traveling. We arrived early enough to get a look at
the ship. (If you use air/sea pkg. insist on arriving early!) It was beautiful. Although it was built in 1991 and has not been refurbished since, it was CLEAN and
well kept. Our cabin-steward, was fabulous, she soon became our guide aboard and ashore! The dining room was most memorable because we sat with
fantastic people. I recommend a round table of eight and the late seating! There is plenty of time to snack between so you are never hungry. The key to our trip
was the dining room! We sat with younger folks 25-45. First time cruisers and sixth time cruisers. These folks were the most help as they helped us figure out
much about cruising. Our waiter and assistant waiter were wonderful and attentive. Better service cannot be found. When I didn't like something, I had another
dish on front of me in 3 minutes! The dining room is filled with theme nights and our waiters dressed for every occasion. It was great comic relief! We made sure
we made every meal! Afterall being served breakfast ,lunch and dinner is a vacation within itself!! The staff were super frinedly- even if it was the 10th time they
gave directions to the bathroom! The shore excursion trips were nice, but I wish they could have been longer. Three hours was not long enough for a
Catamaran Sail in Barbados. We arrived on this island on a national holiday, so everything was closed. Make sure you plan for these things. We planned a shore
excursion this day amd thank goodness we did! All of the ports were great except Martinique. The people were not friendly and I didn't feel safe. Plan a beach
day on St. Maarten! It was 10.00 round trip to the beach but well worth it! Gorgeous, just like the picture books! There was so much to do on the ship and ahore
that we couldn't get everything in! I missed the tour of the ship. I would have enjoyed this. I especially liked seeing the anchors come up in St. Maarten. The
sunset and the wind blowing on my face was so refreshing as I overlooked them crew taking care of such a huge ship! It still amazes me that this huge ship
floats! Our last day was aboard the ship. There were activities planned and the finals for BINGO! Our neighbor won the pot of 4000.00! Our travel agent really
hooked us up! She chose an outside cabin on the 5th floor. This is in the middle of the ship, we didn't rock and we barely felt the ship move as we arrived and
left port. I recommend RCCL. I will definitly take a cruise with them again!
