I found the Sovereign of the Seas to be a disappointment. She definitely did not meet expectations or RCCL's reputation. The food was mediocre and you deviated from the waiter's suggestions at your own risk. The ship is in desperate need of a complete refurbishment. The production shows were of the poorest quality that I've seen. Many people walked out. Tender service at CocoCay was slow. By the time I got to the island there was only one hour left. This isn't because I chose to go late, its because it takes over two hours to get everyone off of the ship. I was unlucky enough to have a high tender number. I think that the cruise line should time the port stay at CocoCay so that if you are on one of the higher numbered tenders, you still have several hours to enjoy the island. Labadee was much nicer and since this port call was an entire day, having a higher tender number didn't matter. One more comment about the dining room: There are only tables for six or eight. My waiter was assigned three tables for eight to serve. This seemed typical of all of the other waiters. Service suffered as a result. The head waiter did little to alleviate the problem. His main purpose seemed to be to walk around and smile rather than roll up his sleeves. RCCL aggressively pushes a hard sell to buy extra's on board.

The purser's office was not as informed as it should have been relative to shore excursions.

Additionally they were very slow to respond to complaints.

Overall this is a great ship and the space ratio is excellent.

The RCCL service is excellent. Private islands are fabulous. Cabins are small but well laid out with adequate storage. Impossible to find a GOOD cup of coffee anywhere on the ship. Shows and entertainers were excellent. Ship is a little worn and weary but still elegant sort of like an aging movie star. Embarkation takes for ever if you arrange your own air. Sign up early for tender service it can take awhile. Chairs at poolside can be scarce so go early. Promenade deck is terrific. Hope to cruise again soon.

As this was our first cruise, we didn't know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that this would turn out to be the best vacation of our lives. The next cruise will definitely be for 7 days or longer.

We booked our cruise through my employer's travel agent and used the RCCL air/sea program. An RCCL representative met us at the arrival gate in Miami and we were on a bus headed for the pier not more than 20 minutes after getting off the plane. As promised our luggage was in our cabin upon arrival.

The ship is absolutely beautiful. The public spaces are clean and well maintained. We had a standard outside stateroom on deck 5 that we found to be on the small side. I would not recommend more than 2 people in this size cabin. Everything in the cabin worked just fine, however, the shower could have used some heavy duty scrubbing. The cabin steward cleaned the room at least twice a day

The service in the main dining room was above reproach. I, and my wife have never seen service of this quality. Special mention must go to Paolo Barbossa for making every meal a time to remember.

The shore excursions to Nassau & Key West were nothing special, shopping and a tour of Ernest Hemingway's home. Cococay is every man's dream of a tropical paradise. RCCL should endeavour to lengthen the stay at Cococay during this cruise.

The nightly entertainment was very good, but not outstanding.

Overall the ship's staff could not have been more pleasant. We plan on taking another longer cruise with friends in the near future. RCCL will be on our list.

We were so impressed with this ship that we have already inquired about a cruise for next year. We have been on two other cruise lines and this was the best of the bunch. The food and the service were far superior to the other lines. The only thing we didn't care for was the amount of time you have to stay in Nassau. This is the third time we have been on a short cruise and Nassau is just not a real popular spot for us. Thye private island they take you to is very relaxing and everyone seemed to have a good time. As I stated earlyer we have already began making plans for a seven day cruise for 1998.

My favorite aspects of the cruise were: lying in the hammock on Coco Cay island; listening to the dualing piano
players in the lounge (they were hilarious); the incredible number of cruise activities including the exercise facilities;
snorkeling and eating at a barbecue on Coco Cay; the people at our dining room table were fun to be with; the
midnight buffets were better than the main meals (and a lot more festive on the deck); our cabin steward was
excellent, attentive and pleasant; and the disco.

My least favorite included the slowness of our waiter to bring our
food, take away our dirty dishes, and the excuses he made why he wasn't faster; I didn't like how we were required
to leave our rooms by 9 am and sit on the ship until 10 am to disembark; the drinks at the captains cocktail party
were watered down; some of the cruise staff had what seemed like "standard" polite questions such as asking a
group of people, Is this your first cruise? And then not really being interested or waiting for everyone's response.

Overall, it was a beautiful ship, and any time we had a complaint (such as about our waiter), it was addressed
quickly and professionally. I was very relaxed after my cruise...which was one of the main purposes. It was my
husband's first cruise and he wants to go on a week-long one now with our children.

This was my first cruise and I thought it was excellant. My particular enjoyment was the staff and their freindly
atmosphere and their information. I felt very welcome and enjoyed their company. I had wonderful waiters and their
support staff , They made the cruise very delightful. The time on the port at Nassau was wondeful. The straw market is
alot of fun. I took a private tour in Nassau which went to the Atlantis which was extremely interesting and very beautif ul.
It should be a tour that the ship offers. Coco Cay the food was good however the weather was not cooperating that day.
More non-water activities for non swimers would be nice. Key West was totally delightful, with the conch train tour. The
people in the restaurants in Key West were very polite and helpful.

Great 3-day for first time cruisers or for seasoned cruisers that cant afford or cant take time off for a 7 day. Ship was
spottless all the time. Staff was more professional then overly friendly. We liked that. Felt like we had cruised for 5 days
instead of 3, very satisfying cruise. Stayed in Nassau until 3am allowing you to stay out on the town. Coco cay was
fantastic. We took our 9 y/o daughter and her friend, they enjoyed the ships kids programs so much we hardly even saw
them.

Good value for a higher quality cruise.

I was married aboard the Soverign on this cruise. Miami Wedding Services helped with the ceremony and then we set sail
for our honeymoon. The neat part was that our entire wedding party cruised with us for a 4 day long reception. The
cruise was fantastic. A perfect blend of class and good-time. The ship was impeccably clean and the service was
amazing.

I was extremely satisfied with our dining room experience. Our waitor, Kenny, made the meals even more enjoyable. The
food was very good and we were always encouraged to try and have as much as we liked.

Coco Cay was the best stop on the trip. I would have liked to stay longer here and less time in Nassau. However, on the
flip side of things....in Nassau, the Yellowbird Party boat was a ton of fun. (One of our party didn't make the Captains
Dinner because it was so much fun.....)

I was a bit nervous about a lot of things about this cruise. First and foremost, since I was having a party ranging in age
from 19-78, I was concerned about the diversity of activities on board. EVERYONE had a great time. Two people hit in
the casino...one for $900 the other for over $2000. We especially liked the Howl at the Moon piano bar. The shows were
quality and well worth watching. All in all, it was a fantastic experience and I would go again on the Soverign in a minute.

The only thing I would change is our cabin location. We were right next to the anchor so we heard it drop every morning
when we arrived in port. And...lastly, I would stay longer. 4 DAYS IS NOT LONG ENOUGH. THERE IS TOO MUCH
TO SEE AND DO. We did not make it to bed before 2 am any night on the ship. The next cruise will be atleast 7-10 days
and it will definately be on Royal Carribean.

(Just a note, my husband and I,,,as well as our maid of honor...all gained 10 pounds on this trip....)

I thoroughly enjoyed RCCL and Sovereign of the Seas! The staff was very helpful, alert and attentive. The service in the dining room was
impeccable. On day one I requested a lemon slice for my water and for the rest of the cruise the lemon slices were on the table when I
arrived for my dinner seating. The menu selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner were quite varied. With all the happenings on the ship -
the casino, live band by the pool, the clubs, etc. - I was pleasantly surprised to not hear any of that in my cabin. My cabin steward also did
a great job; he even washed out my souvenir glasses for me. The worst aspect of the trip was the debarkation and I think that was
because I had to be out of the room by 8 am and then wait around until 9:30 am when they started letting folks off the ship. But that was
tolerable and I still made it to my 11:15am flight with 45 minutes to spare. I highly recommend Sovereign of the Seas!

This was our first cruise, so there is no comparison. The nicest part about the whole cruise was our companions at meals.
Both couples were older than we were, but they had a better spirit than we could have asked for. They made the meals and
after meal entertainment even more enjoyable. We even went shopping together in port, so it is needless to say we hit it off.

The cabin was smaller than we expected, but there was adequate room for storage and it was quite comfortable even if cozy.
The cabin steward was terrific. Never saw him, but the cabin was made up every time we went back. Keep the ice bucket full
all the time was very good about supplying extra bottled water.

Meals were the highlight of the cruise. We had requested the later seating at the advice of our travel agent and that made
getting to breakfast more leisurely and it kept us from being rushed for dinner, but it had a negative impact on the midnight
buffets. We only went to two of them plus the gala and all we did was look and sample a few things. We were somewhat
disappointed in the selection of food they had, but they did have an abundance of fruit and other light selections.

Shipboard activities were good too. We particulary enjoyed the steel drum band that played by the pool every day. The music
gave a lively feel to the shipboard atmosphere and for some reason, made it made the rum punch go down easier. The bars
were good, but beer was a little pricey. Went to the casino a number of times to make a donation but didn't see too many
people getting money back from the machines and tables.

The one thing that we did was wait until San Juan to buy rum, but it turned out that the Bacardi on the ship was about 2
dollars a bottle cheaper than at the distillery. We learned that it makes good sense to buy it at the store on the ship. In St.
Thomas, there is a great liquor store, A.H. Riise. They will deliver your purchases right to the ship and it is put in your room
before you ever get back to the ship. If you drink a lot, it would be more economical to keep it in the cabin and go back when
you run out. We didn't do that, but there were plenty of people on board with sports bottles and other carry-around
containers. RCCL didn't seem to mind.

The Viking Crown Lounge is the nicest on board with great views from the windows, but it had strange hours of operation. It
would have been better if they staffed it for a greater part of the day. Tended to make it more crowded when they were open.

Getting on and off the ship was very easy. They had that part down to a science and even the tenders were easy to catch.

The itenerary was pretty good, but we booked a southern cruise the next time so we would get a better variance of cultures.

All in all, I think the SOS was terrific. We had a great time and would not hesitate to book a cruise on it again. It seems to me
that the management of RCCL and the employees want the passengers to have fun and will do just about anything to see that
you do. It was very pleasant and relaxing.
