Let me start by saying thumbs up to Royal Carribean
International. This organization really knows what their doing
from start to finish. Our trip started very
early on Monday morning as we had to catch a 6:15 flight but our
antisipation of our cruise kept our spirits very high. We had a
very smooth transition from
Atlanta to Miami and the staff at the airport was great. The
embarkation process was so smooth compared to our previous
experience,already a plus so
far.We did the usual at the gangplank(pictures) and then the
differences began from our previous cruise. The staff greeted us
with a smile and grabbed
our carry ons and showed us to our cabin. The first thing I
noticed in our cabin was the light soothing colors that set the
mood for the week. Ok, yes the
cabins are smaller (6068) then most ships(122 sq ft to be exact)
but they utilized every sq inch of it in a very appealing
manner. It almost gives an effect of
being on your own private yacht. We embarked so early that we had
time to eat and check out the ship before the lifeboat drill. For
first time cruisers take
this very seriously (safety of life at sea)is very important to
you and your fellow passengers. We then got prepared for dinner
in the gigi dining room. This
place is beautiful. The food was great every night on board and
the service was wonderful(they will pamper you) The next morning
we arrived in Nassau
and we decided to take a tour on the yellow bird boat. I really
wouldnt recommend this to any person at all. The rum punch was
horrible and I loved Rum
punch before this. After 2 glasses I bought the beer on board.
Not worth the 45 or so dollars we spent. We came back to do the
usual straw market thing
and since we had been to Nassau before, we returned to the ship
to do the pool thing. This ship is so relaxing you could almost
stay aboard her the entire
time and have the best vacation ever. The following day we
arrived at Coco Cay and what a place this was. Royal Carribean
again showed us first class. Its
a little piece of paradise that is something everyone would wish
to visit. We enjoyed the snorkeling and the great pina colodas in
the warm sun.The tender
service to and from the ship was pretty good too. We hated to say
good-bye to Coco Cay but we'll be back. That afternoon was spent
by the pool as Coco
Cay became a spot in the distance and we now were headed to Key
West. Let me say that Royal Carribean needs to try and spend some
more time at this
port of call(better then a night in Nassau, thats for sure)Key
West is beautiful and the people are so friendly. If you like
Jimmy Buffit this place is for you. We
found a place away from the down town area called Turtle Krawls
and had a wonderful seafood lunch as well as a few margaritas!!!
After we ate we walked
along the marina pier to discover an outdoor bar and a local band
playing Buffit style music so the natural thing to do was sip on
more margaritas so we
did. The fun had to stop quickly because the ship was sailing at
5:30. They really need to stay the night in this port. Anyway
were here on our last night of
cruising and the only negative thing I can say is eventually the
cruise ends. The positive thing is Royal Carribean has just
gained another valued customer.
The friends we made on the cruise were also a great plus and we
look forward to making plans with them on another RCCL cruise.
Weather your a first
time cruiser or a vet you can't go wrong with this grand lady (MS
Soverign of The Seas) I strongly encourge you to take this
cruise, You won't forget it. We
loved it so much that were planning to cruise in November aboard
the (MS Nordic Empress) If anyone has any info on this ship,
