Air sea package for the trip from upstate New York was excellent (although next time we
will opt for the prior day deal in Miami). Soooo convienent
to have the bags check at the airport, and not having to bother with them again. First day
on board we found some of the staff to be quite rude while
at the safety demonstration on deck at the various muster stations. In particular was an
english gentleman, who was repeatedly quite rude to various
persons not totally familar with the protocal during the safety demonstration. Fortunately
after that the experience was uphill for the remainder of the
trip. First night at sea was a little rough, and the ship swayed for most of the trip to
Nassau. Nothing that would make anyone sick - actually fo us it
was more of a feeling of light-headedness as we moved about the ship getting aquainted. We
were a family of 4 (Sons aged 17 and 20). In Nassau
we split into two groups of 2 for different shore excursions (2 went to the Dolphin Show
and the other 2 went on a snorkle/sail. Dolphin trip was
awesome - unbelievable interaction with the wildlife - great experience - excellent,
knowledgable, friendly staff. Snorkle Sail was less than
memorable. Staff on board was not rude, but certainly not friendly or all that
informative. Trip was relatively boring and the snorkling was fair at best.
Overall Nassau was dirty - would not go back. Second night at sea was excellent - calmer
waters made the trikp to Cococay smooth and relaxing -
The island itself was excellent - clean and very entertaining. Staff was excellent,
friendly, and funny - snorkling was pretty good and we say a hugh
Ray in the "deep Water" area - the sunken airplane was not memorable. Third
night at sea to Key west was again calm and relaxing, Key West was
super - will make it a point to go back for an extended stay on the Key. Service and Food
in the formal dining room was superior - staff was
genuinely friendly, helpful and entertaining. It amazed us at the energy they all have to
keep up the pace. Prior to the trip, while planning the
anticipated tips, we were a little apprehensive, but after experiencing the great service
first hand, we tipped in excess of the guideline in all areas -
because they truely deserved it. It took us over twenty years of marriage to choose to try
a cruise, and we have been home for less than 2 weeks
and already booked again with Royal Carribean for next spring - 7 days next time - and
likely 15 days the year after that - What an excellent way to
travel. Work out in the morning, great breakfast, shop or sight see all day, relax in the
afternoon, great dinner, great entertainment in the various
theatres, nice bars, romantic nights at sea - and a staff that was really professional.
