We had wet weather on Monday after we arrived, Good dinner and just go to meet our dinner partners.
Got the lay of the ship and took in a few activities as well as planned our excursions for the trip on Monday
afternoon.

Tuesday we were exiting the ship and asked where the whale watching ship was and the cruise hostess
told us, and then she asked us for a few minutes to chat with her. She asked if we would like to have
dinner Tuesday night with the captain! Well yes we said, and we got an invitation, and went whale
watching, Saw 2 whales after a very rough ride, and just looked forward to the dinner. We had great day
even though the whale watching started out in rough windy rainy seas.

Now Tuesday Was Formal night and we had drinks before dinner with the captain and 3 other couples,
and then dined with him at his table during the late seating. His table was only 15 feet from our regular
table. This explains why it was unused during our normal dinners in the main seating. They mixed up the
seating for more conversation and my wife sat between a retired Sargent from the marines and the
captain straight across from me. The sergeant was dressed in his dress blue uniform and he had so many
medals that it was unreal. 3 purple hearts, 2 bronze stars, distinguished service cross and more! He was
on the ship for his wedding with his new wife. My wife is very shy and it was a sight to see her in between
those 2 officers! The other couples were chosen at random also we found out afterwards. I guess you
cant take credit for arranging that for us but it was great anyway! During dinner the captain chatted with
us all, gave a rose to each of the women at the table, and each couple received a signed menu,
personalize place cards, the invitation, along with a group photo of everyone at the table. What memories!
We missed our cake and song at the regular table (for our anniversary) but the table toasted us anyway.
We did wind up getting our anniversary cake and song at our regular table the next night after they found
out what happened to us.

Wednesday was gorgeous on Catalina. Lots of shopping and just a perfect weather day. Our shore tour
was cancelled due to extreme rains from Monday and Tuesday, but we had fun anyway! Thursday was a
winery tour and that was fine. we went to Ensenada downtown for shopping and that was the pits. Street
vendors and families constantly begging for you to buy their wares. all the same stuff too. The sad part is
you see how well we have it in the US and it makes you not want to even look at anything, so we ditched
the shopping after a few stores and went back to the ship.

Always great food and service and the ship may be old but it was constantly cared for and kept up by the
crew. We expected a ship in poor condition, but of one in great condition. Heck my house is as old as the
ship and I don't look at my house as old! The nightly shows were a bit boring with the dance and musical
productions but the entertainers brought on were Steve Smith (a comedian) and Maria Neglia (world
renowned violinist) were super. Anyway, we won't be doing this again real soon, but we WILL be doing it
again and we will look for you to make our arrangements.

Our cabin was small, and the beds were just barely comfortable (being 2 twins moved together) but the
cabin location we had was ideal for that ship. Great ride, and close to everything. The close proximity to
the stairs, dining room, and 2 lounges meant we rarely had to go more than 1 floor up or down and only a
few steps down the hallway after activities. We would have hated to go a long way down the hallways or
way down in the lower decks since the lifts were very slow and overused. Thanks for your excellent choice
of the cabin!

Feel free to use us as referrals, and you can count on a good reference. Hope your family and business
continue to do great and many thanks again for the super service.
