What an experience!!! This was my first cruise along with 2 of my
friends. We wanted to do something that we would always remember
and we will
definitely remember this vacation. The embarking of the ship in
San Pedro was rather quick. When we walked on to the ship, the
staff was very eager to
help us find our room. Our room was suited to fit 3 people. (Two
females and one male) Our room was small but still cozy. One
feature that I thought
came in very useful, was the curtain that turned the hall into a
little dressing room. After finding our room, we went out to the
pool to kill some time before
our luggage came. The bar staff out there was VERY friendly. They
were very prompt with service. One thing I would recommend is to
buy a souvenir
glass. By having this glass, you will get discounts on purchasing
other drinks made in this glass. We were scheduled for the second
seating dinner. This
was nice because it gave us sometime to relax before dinner. We
didn't go to our pre-dinner shows. (We were too tired) We had the
BEST waiter. Our
waiter was very entertaining and efficient. He explained the
different foods that were offered and helped us decide if we
weren't sure what we wanted.
On the last night, my prime rib was a little under cooked for me.
Adi, our waiter, fixed this for me and was very courteous about
it. He was also
entertaining with jokes and even did some impressive napkin
folding. Our cabin steward was very prompt with his service also.
The entertainment was fun.
We saw a group of dancers one night. They sure did a good job! We
enjoyed some dancing. One disappoint was all of the teenagers on
the last night. I
don't know where everyone went but it seemed to mostly be the
teenagers. In San Diego we took a taxi to Mission Beach. The cost
of the taxi was
$14.00. We just wanted to get some sun on the beach and didn't go
on any shore excursions. Be careful if you do decide to layout.
It started out to be
an overcast day and then got fairly warm. All three of us got a
little sunburned. In Catalina we went snorkeling. Our scheduled
time was at 2:00pm. This
gave us the morning to shop and put our purchases away before
snorkeling. I wouldn't recommend the snorkeling. It is a bit
harder than it looks and
there were quite a few people. Ensenada was fun to go shopping.
You can get some really good deals. On our last night we got all
of our stuff packed
and disbursed our tips. Over all the staff was extremely friendly
and helpful. I enjoyed myself very much and plan to cruise again
next year. The pool
waiters and lounge waiters are very friendly and fun to talk
with. (I love the Jamaican accent) I recommend this to anyone who
wants to just get away.
