This was our second cruise aboard the Viking Seranade,the first being our honrymoon the
spring before.On this cruise we took our 3
daughters,ages 12,12 and 15.We booked 2 larger outside rooms and had the same cabin
steward as the year before.Service by our steward
was supurb as was most bar and casino service.Our 2 cabins worked out well for the 5 of
us,as the rooms were much larger than standard
outsides.The major problems arose just after sailing.We made the mistake of booking the
week after schools let out for summer as to bring our
daughters.We were constantly confronted with drunken high school graduates,as they are
allowed to drink if 18 at sea.Rude behavior
abounded,from screaming during shows to drunk confrontations and foul language.They were
part of large student bookings with no
supervision.No one from RCCL seemed to concerned, this caused problems for the 90 percent
normal and pleasant co passangers.What
differance a year makes.As far the itinerary,Catalina Island is pleasant with several good
day attractions.Bypass Ensanada Mexico unless your
looking for a great deal on sterling silver jewelery or quality leather goods.Will we go
again?Maybe,but definitely not during spring or summer
school breaks.Our honeymoon cruise the year before was wonderful,our second cruise left
much to be desired.
