It has been a few years since we cruised on the Viking Serenade, but after reading the
previous letters I had to write and
give our opinion. This was a very short cruise, but a very memorable one. I think we had
the best food, the best
entertainment and the best service that we have ever had on a cruise ship. Most of RCCL's
cabins are a little smaller than
some of the other lines, but theres so much to do, you're not in them that much. To give
you an idea of the wonderful
service in the diningroom: at dinner one night my 13 year old son started to become
seasick and excused himself from the
table. Immediately our head waiter came to see what was wrong. After I explained, he asked
me what my son's favorite
food was. Shortly after, our waiter arrived with a cheeseburger, fries and a pepsi. The
head waiter instructed the busboy to
deliver it to our cabin. He did, and also set up a place for my son to eat in the cabin
and then cleared away the dishes and
tucked my slightly green son back in his bed before leaving. This kind of treatment was
given to everyone in our party (we
were a family of 5). throughout the entire cruise. Not only in the diningroom, but
everywhere aboard the ship. As far as the
tenders go, I have never been on one that didn't smell from the fumes of the engines. This
cruise was taken a few years
ago, but knowing RCCL's high standards, I can't believe the ship has gotten that bad.
