The vision of the seas is a great way to see Europe. The ship is beautiful with a tall
atrium with glass elevators. The food on the ship varied in quality
depending the items and the night. The steak was excellent on the ship. Juicy and always
cooked to the way you ordered it. The chicken was usually dry. The
pasta dishes were excellent. The service in the dining room was five star. They waited on
you hand and foot. THe midnight buffets varied in quality. Some
nights looked like left overs from dinner, however on other nights they were gorgeous with
a great variety of food. The entertainment on the vision was
excellent on about three of the nights. I have been on Royal Cariibean before and it
seemed as though the entertainment on this ship was geared towards a
more international crowd. However, the revue shows were the best of any ship I had been
on. One was a rock show of Broadway songs with great lighting
and effects. The headlining entertainment on this ship lacked compared to Caribbean
cruises. They had a piano player and a juggler. The casino was
beautiful and extremely modern. The ports of call were for the most part fabulous. THe RCL
shore excurions were very organized, however slightly over
priced. Monte Carlo was the best and so was Rome. The vision was a great ship and a
fabulous vacation.

We traveled with two other couples and compared notes in order to give a more complete
evaluation.
We thought the ship was a very beautiful with the food /service being very good. The
solarium was a favorite because of the
pool/hot tubs being inside and cool. The entertainment was top notch.
The smoking on the ship was very bad and I heard complaints from many people. We were on
deck 4 (the same floor as the
atrium) and the smoke was so bad that I was coughing, sneezing, and lost my voice during
most of the cruise. People were
walking around smoking, in the elevators and outside on the deck. This was a big problem
for me since I am allergic to smoke. I
don't know if this was just on this particular cruise that so many people smoked but I
have never had this happen before.
One of the couples had trouble getting on the ship because they never received their
tickets before leaving and when we got to
San Jaun, RCCL didn't have a record of them being on the ship. This took hours to
straighten out and RCCL refushed to upgrade
even though they were only 65% full, this was promised by the booking agent because they
hadn't received their tickets. RCCL
finally did upgrade them after they were on the ship for a couple of days. They also
didn't receive their flight home arrangements
until the day before they were to come home.
Disembarking was a mess and very unorganized. A lot of people waited in long lines only to
find out they were in the wrong line
because the alphabetical lettering was posted at a level that you couldn't see until you
got up close.
We all enjoyed ourselves in spite of the problems but it did cause some concern. Two of
the couples have went on many cruises
but this is the first time any of us have came across these problems.
