The ship was very new when we took our two cruises, back to back. It was just 6 weeks old
so it was new and very clean. We saw the crew taking care of
hanicapped passengers with gerat cares and apparent training. Our cabin steward and dining
room waiter and assitant waiter were very good, very
attentive and very flexible to our needs and also to some of our change of mind on the
menu items. Our weather was very good therefore tha sailing was
very smooth. The cruise just before us encountered some bad weather on their return to
port in Barcelona on the night of June 12. The other
passengers said that the ship was very stable. Some of the bad points include; slight
mixups in the ships newsletter as to when the lido deck dining was
to be open. The times were different on different days leading to people waiting about 20
minutes for the buffet line to open. Another bad point was that
when we arrived in Barcelona, they put us up in a so called resort area, while the ship
was being prepared. This resort area was located in town but near
a lot of construction location. They gave us a continental breakfast of juice, sweet
rolls, tea, coffee, etc. but the untensil were all very dirty. That included
glasses, dishes, cups, knives and forks, all dirty to the point I had to use my nakpin to
try to clean each item. They could have done better by dropping us
off downtown and let us roam downtown for 3 hours, or they could have put us up in a hotel
conference room for those three hours. This was not a very
pleasant situation.
Overall the crusie and the itinerary; Manaco, Malata, Naples, Livorno, Corsica, Cicily,
etc. were very nice ports. We did the Isle of Capri and the Blue Groto
on our own. This was a a very nice part of the trip. The Captain and the crew were very
helpful! Would I take this crusie again? The answer is YES. Would
I take the back to back crusie again? The answer is probably not. Why? Because some of the
show they had at night were repeats, in total or in part.
They should be able to provide completely new shows with all the different ports they hit.
The talent they had on the nighlty shows were pretty good. One
or two performers were not up to standard. Have a good trip!
