This was our first cruise in Europe and was very enjoyable. The embarkation was organized
and we spent only a small amount of time on check in. The
ship was new and really beautiful. Our waiter was very competent and we learned to order
his recomendations for food since when we strayed from them
the food was overcooked or did not taste good. The beef items were all very good and the
chicken was all dry and tough. The fish items got mixed
reviews. Overall the food was good if you chose the right item but most items were
disappointing. We enjoyed all the tours we took, but did France on our
own by train and had a great time in Cannes and Monte Carlo for a modest $40 for four
people. We especially enjoyed Barcelona and it was a great city
to begin the cruise. I really recommend the tour in Taormina, Sicily because it was a
beautiful towm and our table mates were unable to get transportaion
on their own. Our Children ages 13 and 17 were disappointed with the number of other kids
but had a great time anyway. The itinerary was overall pretty
interesting and a good value for food and room in the Mediterranean area. The
entertainment in the main show lounge was unusual and varied but we
really enjoyed most of the shows and felt they were better than most other cruies. (we
have been NCL, Celebrity, RCCl, Princess, carnival, Premier,
Regency, Dolphin, Costa for comparison. The Waiter and steward tried very hard and it
would be hard to fault the service anywhere on board.
