Being my second time on my favorite ship, I was really excited I got to board knowing my way around,
knowing all the little corners of the ship, and knowing little bits of trivia as well.

When I stepped on the ship, I was greeted by a social director who said he recognized us, that was
already a welcoming. This time around, we had an Atrium View room on the 6th deck. My brother and
I shared a room, this is the first time we have ever done that. It had its benefits, he is so much
younger, and was usually in my parents room, that I pretty much had it to myself. When I the curtain, I
saw Robert. Robert is the supervisor at the Cafe' Promenade, he immediately recognized me when I
came in sight, and singled me down. As I went down, he greeted me by name. I was impressed. He
was happy to see me back, because on his breaks, we would always talk. Anyway, I headed up to my
cabin, and got began to unpack. I was ready to leave. Finally, the time came around, and I was
watching us pull out of port, on our way to our first port.

This time around on the Voyager, I was not as pleased as I was on my previous sailing. I was not to
thrilled with the new members to the staff. Although they did do a great job, I really missed the
"originals" on the Voyager. The ship changes a little since the last time. For instance, all activities
were free. This meant that more people were ice-skating and/or rock climbing. It didn’t mean that
much to me, but I missed the feeling of doing things without crowds. The waiters in the dinning room
were okay, they were nothing to write home about. On the same deck we ate, we saw our previous
water-boy, he became a full time waiter. He too, recognized us by name. It was nice to see him at a
higher position, because he really deserved it. The second day was great. Calm waters and a sea
breeze. As I walked with my new found friends, the teen director, Melissa, also recognized me, and
called me by name. She was also on the Grandeur when I was on in 98. Anyway, the day went by,
and I saw familiar crewmembers, and the day finally came to a close with a statement from Captain
Petterson, saying we would not be going to our first port of Labadee, due to political unrest. I was
happy, I don’t like port days. Anyway, the days to come were great, dancing in the Vault till around
three in the morning each night was really fun. The nightclub now had some policy that no one under
18 was allowed in the “Vault” but since I looked old enough, I was able to go in and dance. The last
day for us was kind of special. I spoke with the Captain at the repeater party, and we chatted for a
good half an hour, and he took my parties’ name, and we were invited to an invitation only tour of the
Bridge. That was really nice. That night, the vault was very loud. Everyone wanted to finish the week
off in a great party form, so when the club closed, Some people through their own party on deck 12
which included me sneaking into the bands equipment and playing the drums.

All in all, the cruise was great, it ranks right up there with the top as for cruise experience. We are
going on again next summer, and this winter will be sailing on the Explorer of the Seas. Next summer
as well, will be my cousin’s quince cruise (15’s). That will be aboard a Carnival cruise not yet decided
on. I am kind of scared to go on a Carnival cruise, because of the companies constant problems with
engines and or power. This will be my second Carnival cruise, but the first week long one.

Any question or comments please E-mail me. I will be happy to answer all cruise questions, I am a
self proclaimed cruise Expert.

We loved this cruise. The Voyager is a large and beautiful ship. The only thing I was a bit
disappointed with was Sprinkles, the ice cream bar. I was expecting a Farrells type of ice cream
palace, but Sprinkles is a couple of soft serve machines you use self-serve to make soft ice cream
cones, vanilla or chocolate. You can put sprinkles on top also. Hardly a big experience for this ice
cream lover.

I would recommend that you prepare yourself ahead of the cruise for the gratuities at the end. If
you lose a lot of cash at the casino you will be scrounging around for cash to tip the excellent staff
at the end of the cruise. The entire staff is excellent and we felt they deserved excellent tips. Next
time, we will put money in envelopes for the staff and lock it in the safe at the start of the cruise so
we will have more left to tip with.

Service and food were excellent in the fine dining room. It is worth getting up early to get in there.
The buffet style Windjammer food is OK, but the dining room has the best food. We got
reservations to Portifinos after reading reviews of bad food. However, we found the food in the fine
dining room to be comparable to Portifino and the service much friendlier. No one told us that you
are supposed to tip after the meal at Portifinos as opposed to at the end of the week. Maybe that is
why we felt we were treated coldly as we left. We thought we were supposed to wait til the end of
the week.

Our waiter, Daniel, was excellent and made us very comfortable and at home. He went above and
beyond in serving us. His assistant was also very good. The wine steward was also excellent. The
head waiter was very attentive and friendly also. Our cabin attendant, Mayra, was first rate and
kept our room immaculate and was always availabe to serve our needs and answer questions.

One young man we really felt was excellent in the bar was Miguel Rodriguez in the Scala theatre.
He ran down to the dining room for us to get special cups we were collecting during the
performance.

Everyone made us feel right at home on the cruise. I liked the ports very much. Labadee is a lovely
island to enjoy all aspects of the beach. Something for everyone. Jamaica horseriding was
wonderful and our guides were excellent. It was a bit costly though. Cozumel offered wonderful
buys on jewelry and embroidered items, and crafts. We were a bit disappointed with our swim with
dolphins at Chakanub, however, because we did get to touch them, but were not allowed to swim
with them. Perhaps this is because we were in the last group and were rushed in and out of the
water. We got some cute pictures, but it was a costly excursion and we wanted to swim with the
dolphins. I recommend anyone doing this go early.

The shows were all excellent. I loved the ice show and the acrobats, and the comedy and also the
dancers and singers. We saw the Osmond brothers. They seem nice. We like their gospel songs,
but they did all types of music. The other singers were a little more hip and current, but they had a
cute show even without Donny or Marie.

We did not get much sleep on board--by choice. There was always so much to see and do. I think
anyone wanting to enjoy a cruise with lots to do would enjoy this. However, keep in mind that it is a
large ship and very crowded. It was booked to capacity while we were there. This can make for
lines and waits. People had to get up at 6:30 am to reserve a slot for climbing the wall. Not what I
want to do on vacation. Also if you want good seats at the theatre or ice show, you had to show up
30-45 minutes early and sit and wait. Also not what I enjoy doing with my vacation time.

Another time at the Captain's champagne cocktail hour it was so crowded that a woman bumped
into my wife and spilled the champagne she was holding down her silk dress. The woman just kept
on walking, no apology or concern. This happens when people are packed into a small area like we
were packed into the Promenade area for this cocktail. We did not even attempt to get a spot to
see the Mardi Gras parade, because the Promenade was again unreasonably crowded with
people. This is a problem that needs to be remedied on this ship when booked to capacity. I am
concerned that a physically challenged person or the elderly may not enjoy this aspect. I am able
bodied and athletic and could not endure it myself.

Other than the crowds, I enjoyed every aspect of the vacation. If we had kids it would be ideal,
because they have excellent child care on board and a great activity program and children's area.
Nice job, RCI!

This was our honeymoon cruise. We were coming from other destinations so we didn’t have any
arrangements of flights or hotel with Royal Caribbean. At the pier of Miami it has been a nightmare to
understand what we should do with our baggage and the solution has been to pay someone to arrange it.
No assistance by RC. We booked a superior balcony room because being our honeymoon we wanted to
spoil ourselves. Unfortunately the money we paid more than others it gives you only the balcony: nothing
is given to you more that who paid half of your price. On an airline, for example, if you fly First Class you
have a dedicated check-in, a fast lane, etc. etc. Here no. Next cruise we will save our money booking the
most economic interior cabin, since you get the same of whom has a suite. First impact with the ship was
impressive: is huge, you can’t see the end.

ROOM Our room was nice, well furnished and everything was in good order. Obviously the ship is brand
new and this helps a lot. The room attendant greeting us at our arrival and his service was good all along
the cruise. Particularly nice the ‘compositions’ made by him using the towels.

GUEST RELATION’S We met on board other couples on their honeymoon and we were upset hearing
that they received champagne and other complimentary from RC to greet their honeymoon. We weren’t.
On day 1, Monday, it was my birthday and nobody said to me ‘happy birthday’ a part my wife. I’m a
manager of a 4 star hotel, and we daily look on our computer to see any birthday of our guests. On RC
no. We had copy of the fax between our Agent and RC, and in the notes it was written: ‘HONEYMOON! /
Pier pick-up ticket at 3 pm’. We showed this fax to the desk, complaining because we were not recognised
as honeymooner. The answer was that we were recognised as honeymooner only to check-in at 3pm,
nothing else. I was offended and I left the desk. During all the rest of the week RC did not consider us
honeymooner.

SHIP It’s really amazing. You have many options about where to drink or where to have a snack. The
Royal Promenade is great: the idea of having a street on the sea is nice. The pool deck didn’t impress me
a lot: I think designers could have done a better lay out. Pools are too small, while number of Jacuzzi is
exaggerated, sunbeds on deck 11 are soon finished and on deck 12 you don’t have even a shower to
refresh yourself. The gym is large and well equipped and we spent quite a lot of time in it. The beauty
centre at deck 12 is nice but prices are too expensive, double of the normal market. The theatre La Scala
is impressive, with a good shape and a good view from everywhere. The Studio B ice theatre is another
great idea and we enjoyed it. The Casino is good, may be a little small. Nr of roulettes should be
increased since they’re always crowded. All other clubs and bar are generally well done and well
equipped. There’s a bar called “Scoreboard” that is dedicated to the sports. I don’t know why but during
all the week there was not even one TV on the Olympic Games. Being a sport bar, which event is more
important for the sport of the Olympic Games? The sport deck, on decks 12/13, is nice. The pitch is not
so big and we were surprised when the Shipshape staff told us that soccer is prohibited because
dangerous. And what about basketball? During the week some groups of Americans were playing
basketball and they were always fighting and someone injured himself against the protections. I do not
see soccer more dangerous. Moreover we discovered that the crew use to play soccer during night and
that the goals were available.

ENTERTAINMENT Everyday you have the ‘Compass’, a list of information on events and life on board.
Many times we found mistakes or discrepancy. Should be made with more care. The shows at La Scala
theatre and Studio B were always nice and professional. You will never miss any other shows or
Broadway while watching these productions of RC. Singers and dancers are amazing, and attractions are
high level quality. During the days at sea many events were available, but only few on pool deck or sport
deck, particularly those involving the guests like games or competitions. Most of the involvement is
dedicated to spend money (Bingo, auctions, etc.) The band at poolside was always the same and the
songs were even always the same. They It is really boring and after two days even disturbing. The
parades on Royal Promenade are nice, but due to the conformation of the promenade itself is practically
impossible to see something if you are not there 1 hour before!. Better to stay in your room watching the
parade on TV. In any case days at sea are generally boring.

FOOD AND SERVICE Excellent. Dining rooms are elegant and the service is impeccable. Quality of food
is high and menus vary every night. Really compliments to all kitchen staff and all the waiters. Breakfast
buffet at deck 11 is rich and satisfactory and we enjoyed it always. One morning we wanted to taste the
breakfast served at dining room deck 3. It’s a formal breakfast with a menu and many waiters serving you.
We run away after the coffee and we went back at deck 11! Lunch on board is at buffet and sometimes
the food didn’t satisfy me. But working in a Hotel I know perfectly the problems of keeping the food alive
and good with a buffet open for almost 4 hrs. I cannot blame them. Snacks are available 24hrs day at
Café Promenade and pizza and sweets are excellent. Waiters are always around you offering special
drinks, and notwithstanding I understand that this is a business for RC, but sometimes they press too
much and they bother you.

PORTS OF CALL AND SHORE EXCURSION Our cruise stopped at Labadee (Haiti), Ocho Rios (Jamaica)
and Cozumel (Mexico). I think RC should add one more destination. On Monday afternoon we went to
Explorations’ desk to book a shore excursion, properly the bike tour in Ocho Rios. We were told that the
tour was sold out, then the girl called the people behind us saying: ‘Next one, please!’. We were
discharged! Nothing else was offered to us. So we decided to do not use any shore excursion of RC. And
we were right. In Jamaica and Mexico we did the same excursion proposed by RC saving over the 75% of
money!!! Labadeee is a private destination of RC on the Haiti Island. It’s really nice and the beaches are
wonderful. We do not suggest to rent snorkelling equipment because the staff do not leave you going
around the coast, you are limited to certain areas where you do not see nothing. Best is to relax, do
shopping at the market (prices really cheap) and play volleyball or soccer. Ocho Rios is a nice locality of
Jamaica. Best attractions are the Dunn’s River falls and we decided to visit them. We went out of the port
with other two guys and we took a taxi in 4. We spent 22 dollars in total to visit the falls and the shopping
centres. The same tour was offered by RC at 38.00 USD each!!! Cozumel is a nice island facing Playa del
Carmen and we decided to visit Cozumel instead to go to Playa or Cancun. We went out and we rented a
jeep. We have been visiting all Cozumel and it was a wonderful experience. We’ve seen white beaches
and clear water, archaeological sites and the town. We paid 40 USD of car rental. RC was offering a 4 hrs
tour on jeep to one place at 68 USD each!!!

GENERAL ORGANISATION Definitively the pier at Miami needs to be improved because to leave the ship
we had been waiting in the ship and in queue for a total of almost 4 hours! Guests’ Relation desk needs
more training because they do not know how to treat a client. Same is for Explorations’ desk. The ship is
amazing, the crew is generally nice, educated and professional. Most probably there’s a need of a review
of the general organisation of the RC, not of the ship itself. Will we cruise again on RC? We’ll see.

This ship was by far the best we have ever cruised. It was as though the crew was hand-picked. The
cruise director was the absolute best of the best. It was obvious he loved his work. He was visible and
very social to everyone. Even the captain made his way about the ship and mingled with the
passengers. He, too, was very social.

I do not regret paying more for the Category C stateroom - it was much larger and beautifully
appointed. We felt really 'special' on this ship.

The only negative was the lack of supervision of the pre-teens. They would run through the stairways,
monopolize the elevators by pressing all the stops and then getting off - so the elevators stopped at
each deck, whether called for or not - I don't necessarily blame any one for their behavior except,
perhaps, the parents. In groups they were generally out-of-control. I don't know anything about the
on-board programs for the kids - perhaps the kids we kept seeing were not in the programs that were
available. It would be very sensative, I suspect, for on-board security to get a handle on such behavior
but I do feel strongly that this type of behavior should be addressed.

However, it is important to note that we would book this same ship again - in a heartbeat - with
absolutely no reservations on our part - as we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and we look forward
to boarding her sistership, the Explorer.

This was our 14th cruise and 6th with Royal Caribbean. We had hesitated going on the Voyager
because we had been to the ports several times, but the ship alone is worth the trip. From our first
moment on Voyager, we were blown away. We sailed to Alaska on Rhapsody and never thought we
would sail on a ship more beautiful. Even Celebrity's Mercury, an upscale ship, was not but Voyager
was. I will comment on individual aspects of the cruise. Embarkation was quick and easy and we were
able to avoid the boarding photographer with ease. We had flown into Miami the day before and
stayed at the Marriott Biscayne Bay to awaken to a view of our ship in port. We were aboard by a little
after noon and went right to the Windjammer for lunch. Very nice variety of food there and good
service. I had breakfast there several times and the food was fair. No variety, but lunch was good. The
dining room food and service were as good as we have ever had on any ship. Our waiter and
assistant waiter were very good and tried very hard to please. Only problem was that I expect the
assistant waiter to know my drink preference by the second night and this one didn't. We had beef for
many meals and it was tender and flavorful. Fish was excellent and the lobster was as good as we
have had anywhere. Salads were fair but desserts, which we had too many of, were wonderful. Our
cabin had a balcony and now, we never want one without. I spent many peaceful, relaxing hours there
reading and just enjoying the view. Our cabin was comfortable and we had plenty of room for
everything. The bed and pillow were comfortable. Our cabin steward,Wilburn, was wonderful. He was
friendly without being obnoxious, our cabin was always clean and we found towels in all sorts of funny
designs every evening. The choice of shore excursions was the best we have seen, but with 3200
people onboard, this was expected. Even though we had been to both ports, Ocho Rios and Cozumel,
several times, there were things to do that we had not done. We rode horses in Jamaica and took
scuba lessons in Mexico. Both were a lot of fun and great ways to enjoy the ports. Still had time to
shop in Cozumel. Only problem with these choices was that they both started at 11:30 AM and since
they were more than 3 hours, left no time to eat lunch. Too early before and too close to first dinner
seating afterward. The cruise director must have been a stand up comic before. We totally enjoyed
him. The entertainment was ok. At least they stopped doing that dumb song ,'If I were not upon the
sea'. First time was cute but then it gets old really fast. One of the things that we really enjoy doing is
Team Trivia and this was not offered at all. First ship we have ever been on where it wasn't. The last
day at sea found very few things to do onboard. This was a disappointmentment and we ended up just
reading in the Solarium. Not a terrible thing to do, but I can read at home. The casino was not crowded
but was quite smokey. Can't complain about the payout since I hit a good one on the dollar slots.
Another passenger mentioned that they were loose the first few days out and then quite tight after that
and we found that to be true. Could be co-incidence, but who knows. I went to several 'seminars' and
found them to be nothing more than badgering to sell their spa services. One was supposed to be
how to fight fat after middle age and it was just to sell a seaweed massage and seaweed pills. Very
disappointing. The exercise facility is fabulous but not enough classes offered throughout the cruise.
Only one or two a day and at 8 AM. On other cruises, even on RCI, there are many throughout the
day. The ship was amazingly smooth. We had 35 mph cross winds our first day and experienced just a
gentle rocking. Oh, watch out for that if you chose to inline skate. Overall, the cruise was fantastic and
I can't wait for Explorer and Adventure to come out.

Hi this is our review of the cruise we took on the Voyager of the seas on 11-5-00 Myself wife and kids
boys 8 & 10 years old.We picked this cruise for our 20th wedding ann and my sons 10th brithday.I had
read alot of reviews on the ship and we saw her in Miami in august. But the ship i wanted to book was the
Big Red Boat 2 out of Tampa i had call up Premier in August to see what kind of Deal i could have gotten
for Nov 5th ,and was told it was sold out .Some people have all the luck. Then the deal on the Voyager
came up it was for nothing .The fall is when you find the best deals. We stayed the nigth before the cruise
at the Wyndham over looking the port. It's a good Hotel we got it on the Net for $49 a night. If you book this
Hotel ask for a room over looking the port it"s great.

Getting on and off the ship

Getting on and off the ship was a breeze .We were on the ship and in the cabin by 11:30 our bags came
at 12;30 before them we went up to the Island grill for some lunch .and a look around. This ship is very
big.We were off the ship Sunday at 8:30 am .So getting on and off the ship was a breeze

Cabin

We had an inside cabin on deck 8 (8223) This being our 7th cruise on RCCI we found this cabin to be the
biggest inside cabin we ever had on a RCCI ship. There was alot of room and space for our things .It had
a well stocked fridge .And on the TV you could check your shipboard acount. The bathroom was bigger
then the other RCCI ships we have been. And the cabin stewert was very helpful.

Dinning

Dinning on board was great the best food we ever had on a RCCI ship and i mean great. We had dinner
in the Carmen dinning room .It is 3 floors hight ,each floor is a dinnng room. When we were having dinner
in there i felt like i was having dinner in the main ballroom of the Waldorf Astoria.

The Windjammer & Island grill

Here is where one would have Breackfast & lunch. It was good but they could have more varity. We had
dinner in the Island Grill one night it was very good. You could also get afternoon snacks here too.

Cafe Promenade

You could get pizza sandwitchs cookies pastys and cake if you like Coffee tea and Hot choolate too. It's
open all day and most of the night. Its a great place for a late night snack.

Portofino

The food and service here to us was great. We had dinner here for our 20th wedding ann.If anybody
remembers the Old Home lines and there great ship SS Oceanic Having dinner in Portofino was the way
dinner was every night on the Oceanic great.

Johnny Rockets

Well what can i say about this place. It was great. For anybody who ever eat at a Johnny Rockets the food
is the same .Not ship food. They make the best shakes and the apple pie and ice cream is to die for.The
waiter sing and dance for you. This is the best new idear to come along in some time ona cruise ship fun
fun.

Midnight Buffett

We only made the main one it was good .But who has room for anymore food this late .We all but stop
going to them now.

Lounges

We went to most of the them .We would star off our night at Cleopatras needle it has live music. And then
we would make our way up to Rythm & Rhymes .This lounge is up in the Viking crown lounge with a great
latin band paying.Down at the Royal prommenade is where the pig & whistle is .Its an English pub and a
sing along pub too.A great place to get a pint of beer.A cross the way is Scooreboards its a sports
bar.We watched monday night football here it ws great. The Aquarium & Champagne lounges are very
nice but under used. The Voult is a dico maybe the best at sea.We had a great time in it.

Royral Promenade

All i can say about this place is WOW we have never seen a place like this before on a cruise
ship.everything gos on here .2 parades each week not to be missed .You just have to see this place to
believe it.

Studio B

This is where you could go ice shaking .And watch the ice show it was great .I still have to get use to
seeing an ice shaking show on a cruise ship in the caribbean .

Pool areas & Sports deck

There are 2 pool areas on this ship The Solarium pool area .And the main pool area with 2 big
pools.going to te stern of the ship you will find the sports deck A full rock climbing wall a full basketball
court..A mimi golf course and a inline roller rink. One deck below you will find the Kids deck called
Adventure Ocean. Our boys like it but they were on there own on this cruise and they had a great time.

Ports

We did the W.Caribbean on this cruise day 1 at sea day 2 Labedee day 3 Ochda Rios day 4 at sea day 5
Cozumel day 6 at sea day 7 at Miami

We have done the W Caribbean cruise 15 times so the ports were not a big thing for us .We just went to
the beachs and had a good time.

odds & ends

The night life on this ship is great we never got back to our cabin before 330am that how much of a good
time we had .We didn"t wont it to end.The food was great and so was the shows. We met and made alot of
new friends. They have a great Casino but we didn"t use it much.

Closing

Its been a few days now since we are off the ship. And i know you want the nagative comments too.We
just didnt have any .The really only one is the doors going in and out of the pool areas are very slow. The
ship after a year is in great shape .its keep very clean.Like i said the food was the best we ever had on
RCCI .This ship has everything going for it.This was our 57 cruise we go 2 to 3 times a year .We go now
more for the ship then the pors of call.Thats why this ship is so great you don"t need two meny pors on
this cruise. Our next cruise is on the Grand Princess in August .And we may do the Exporer next Nov.RCCI
has a good thing going with this class of ships.I can't see the cruise ships getting any bigger then this
class it would just be to much.Who would like this ship .Familys It's as good as a Disney cruise we did the
Magic last year and love it .This cruise is just as good for familys.Young & old alike there is so much to
do'If you like RCCI this ship is for you.If you would like any info on te ship and cruise feel free to E Mail.
