Why Sail Carnival?

We enjoy Carnival for many reasons.   The number one reason is fun,fun,fun! Carnival really delivers If you enjoy Las Vegas-style shows and decor (although the newer ships are decidedly more subdued in the glitz department).  Some of the many other reasons we enjoy Carnival are:

1. It's easy to navigate the layout of the ships
2. Good food quality
3. Excellent midnight buffets
4. Quiet cabins
5. Great selection of on-board activities
6. Great stabilization
7. Carnival is a leader in the entertainment category, with their very talented cruise directors, singers, and dancers

Kudos to Carnival for building a ship that is smoke free.  Some non-smoking cruisers are turned off by the heavy smokers that are sometimes found on Carnival sailings.  To us, the few negatives with Carnival are minor: 

1. At certain times of the year, a more "party" crowd sails with Carnival - that's why you need to work with a cruise specialist that is familiar with the line and the "personality" of its clientele at different times of the year
2. Dress codes - we've seen people change into shorts after dinner on formal night
3. More smoking in public areas than non-smokers may like

Carnival is great for singles, honeymooners, and families.  They provide an excellent first time cruise for those looking for a fun, exciting atmosphere.  Carnival also has a fantastic kids program, Camp Carnival.  Our first cruise was on Carnival, and it should tell you something that we've done 23 since!  Not to mention, getting involved in the cruise business.  

Early on, someone told us that after sailing Carnival you will want to "move on" to other lines as you "mature" as a cruiser.  Well, we can tell you we still love to sail Carnival and can't wait to board her new ships in the future.  They put out an excellent product, and as long as you know the type of experience to expect, you will have a great time on your first (or 50th) Carnival cruise.
