Why Sail Holland America?

Our Holland expreiences have been very enjoyable.  They stand out in our memory for the elegance of the ships and the phenomenal service of the Indonesian and Filipino cruise staff.  Some of the many other reasons we enjoy Holland are:

1. Very elegant ships, with beautiful 2-story dining room and fantastic art collections
2. Ship’s public areas are kept immaculately clean
3. Nice movie theater on board
4. Indonesian/Filipino staff were fantastic - best overall staff we’ve ever experienced
5. Excellent Panama Canal, Europe, and Alaska programs
6. Great Alaska land tour packages
7. Cabins are elegant, spacious, and well appointed
8. Laid back, relaxing atmosphere
9. Caters to its target (60+) audience well

We feel Holland's minor negatives are: 

1. Dutch officers did not always treat the Indonesian/Filipino staff nicely
2. If you are under 40, you may feel most activities (and entertainment) are geared more toward an older crowd than your interests

Holland is great for seniors, and couples who enjoy an elegant, laid back cruise.  We wouldn't recommend HAL for an under-40 person's first time cruise, or for your honeymoon.  But for those that appreciate elegant surroundings, good food, and impeccable service, HAL offers an excellent product.  

While we are nowhere near Holland's target customer age, we loved  both of our sailings aboard Holland ships and plan to sail the line again.
