Why Sail Royal Caribbean?

We have very good memories of our three Royal Caribbean cruises.  They are, in our opinion, the best in one respect - service!  Royal Caribbean really provides service from almost every staff member you encounter.  Some of the many other reasons we enjoy Royal Caribbean are:

1. Service from wait staff and cabin stewards/stewardesses is exceptional
2. Elegance of interior areas - lots of brass, glass, and soft colors
3. Ship public areas are nicely organized and styled
4. Cabins are generally small but well-organized and quiet (Sovereign)
5. Private island experience on Labadee is fantastic
6. Ship staff (purser, desk staff, management) very friendly and helpful
7. Great variety of shipboard activities
8. Sometimes feature surprise celebrity guest entertainers
9. Private RCI club for customers in San Juan

We feel the few negatives with Royal Caribbean are: 

1. Food quality - we feel it is just average, and is surpassed by most other cruise lines
2. Creaking cabins (Splendour)
3. Deck space can seem in short supply on at-sea days

Royal Caribbean is a good choice for all ages and is an excellent first time cruise choice.  It may be compared to staying at a lovely "Hilton hotel at sea".  The ships are elegant and the atmosphere is fun but not rowdy. 

We feel RCI does almost everything with the exception of food quite well, and in the service area they are the best we've experienced.  And if you work with a knowledgeable cruise agent (hint, hint),   you can find certain sailings that provide an excellent value for the money.
